BP will ruin your skin's ability to heal, it's not worth it even if it helps to clear up faster you will be left with redmarks everywhere that last many months

Heck no! Proactiv is TERRIBLE! You might as well rub horse crap on your face, it's the same as using Proactiv.

^^
Horsecrap would probably do a whole lot more for your skin than proactive.

Yeah proactiv really is horrible. How about you try Dans regimen? I just ordered his bp today. If you want to find out more go to www.danielkern.com

I'm sorry but I disagree. I used Proactiv for years and LOVED it. Kept my cystic acne completely clear for over 3 years. It is very soothing and balancing for my skin. I still use it as I am able with my Rx treatment right now, but plan to go back to it once I get my acne under control again. I absolutely love the cleanser and the toner is fantastic too. And I have rather sensitive skin overall. Stopping using Proactiv a few months before this horrible breakout happened is probably one of the worst decisions I've ever made.
As far as delayed healing and red marks...well I have experienced that with the 5% BP I am using right now in Benzamycin but never on Proactiv (2.5% BP). It seems like the glycolic acid in the toner helps with healing your skin anyway. But seriously...it's better to get clear and deal with red marks a little longer, than continue to break out and keep adding to them, you know?
Have you ever used a benzoyl peroxide product? If not, you need to start slowly. That could be the cause of the irritation. Just use the cleanser and toner for a while (maybe even just once a day to start) and slowly add in the BP lotion once you can use the other two products twice a day. Make sure you rinse the cleanser completely off. Also, make sure you scrub VERY GENTLY for 1-2 min. If you scrub hard you will irritate your skin.
I definitely would recommend trying it. I know that a lot of people say they hate it, but I'm really convinced that most people that have a bad experience either: 1) use it improperly (i.e. scrubbing too hard), 2) use too much BP too fast, 3) are sensitive to BP (very small percentage of people)

1. I was very gentle while on it
2. I used just the amount they said, a pea sized
3. And I am not sensitive to bp.
When I called them to get my money back, the lady said "try the product for another six months, maybe then it'll work." Ha. Yeah. Like I'll waste my time doing that.
The cleanser was gritty, the toner burned, and the lotion just didn't come in the right amount. And the so called spot treat from the refining mask didn't help at all. The two and the half months I used Proactiv, my skin looked dreadful. I got cysts on my hairline, and sheer amounts of papules. I woke up with TWO gigantic pimples on my nose one day. And that one day happened to be school picture day. Thankfully it was in 8th grade, and not any HS pictures, which matter the most.
