well, my daughter just got home from her 3 day rafting trip and her face is torn up from the sunscreen she used during her trip. Her face is so irritated and red that it was glowing outside in the dark. And her face is broken out more then I have ever seen it. I wonder how long it will take to get better? She has so much more comedonal acne then ever. What is a good sun screen she can use. I was so afraid of this happening. It's either fry your face off from the sun or break out and get irritated from the sunscreen.

that's the problem with sun exposure these days
we need it for vitamin D synthesis but with the ozone layer weakened anything more than 15-20 minutes exposure in sunny weather and we run into skin damage

Neutrogena Ultra sheer is the best sunscreen that Ive ever used.
Its the best. Try it !
And did she re-apply sunscreen ?
She needed to re-apply it when she was at outside.
If she is using SPF 30, it just lasts for 3 hours if she is at outside.
Re-applying is the key !

Sorry to hear that! Have you rescheduled with Laura yet? She has a great sunscreen in her product line that I use every day. Its non-comedogenic (obviously, since it is from an acne clinic's line!) and goes on really nice. I'll bet she will recommend it, or one of the other sunscreens she carries.
It might have been the sun exposure that irritated her skin too. Sometimes too much sun can also flare acne.

yeah I rescheduled for Tues. Right now my daughter looks like she has this red mask on. She has this red line between her jawline and neck. And ohhhh so broken out. The worse I have ever seen her. I took her to the doc today hoping he might be able to do a hormone test, but he just shrugged it off and said she will just grow out of it. He doesn't believe in birth control. So, now to just anxiously await her appointment with the clinic. I sure hope she will be able to help cause my dd is starting to get scars from acne a few of them are pitted. I am so scared that my DD is going to fall into the 5% that she can't fix.

Awww, don't think like that! Think how much more likely it will be that she CAN help her (95% vs 5%!!). I'm not a gambling woman, but those sound like pretty good odds to me!!!
So, is she red from being broken out or is she more sunburned? Either way, hopefully she'll be less red by Tuesday!
Did she at least have fun rafting?

Best sunscren i've ever used is Neutrogena Dry Touch spf 30. It doesn't make me look greasy (it just gives a "glow" if anything) and it doesn't break me out. I have the worst acne prone skin too.

I am willing to bet that Laura can fix your daughter's skin. Confidence for the both of you will help in the process, too. Both of you go in with confidence that this will give you the solution. Within a few months you'll see a difference. I'm positive of that.
Take a look at calla lily's log. She looks magnificent in a few short weeks at that clinic. Makes me wish I could go, but I live 2000 or so miles away. So I will just have to become an esthetician and/or NP myself and open my own clinic here.

yeah, she had a blast rafting. I called the clinic today and talked to the guy (I can't think of his name) (is it Larry??) anyway, he felt that she should be ok by Tuesday. I really feel that it is irritation from the sunscreen and the PB use. So, he said it usually takes about 4-5 days for the irritation to subside. Either way I am taking her. I can always have her do her own treatment at home if need be. I hope one of these days we will run into each other there. I told them you had refered me

Unfortunately every neutrgena product my DD has ever used had caused her to break out. (sigh)

Well, the clinic is about a 5 hour drive for us. But, if it will help it is worth the drive. How do I find calla lily's log?
