what effects would it be on the skin if expired retin-A is used? i still have 1 full tube of retin A.. and it expires this june 2007.. wondering whether to use it or not.. seems like a waste if i don't

putting that aside, i've got another question. went to see the doctor today.. surprisingly, he told me that alcohol-driven agents ( he gave me the antibiotic solution ) do not really irritate the skin.. how true is that? i've been applying that for quite a while.. but the zits near my chin/neck don't seem to be recovering..

I would use it for the next 2-3 months and then toss it. It isn't going to hurt you to use it, but I would guess that the effectiveness of it would go down.

oh... so i can be sure that there won't be any harmful effects coming from expired retin-A right? by the way, can i use retin-A for my current zits ( red and pretty irritable now) also? which is more effective - retin-A or antibiotic solution?

Most meds are fine for months if not years after the actual exp (other than mixed zineryt)... And to answer your question, topical antibiotics will clear you in the short run, but long term retin-a would probably be a better choice, you will most likely notice a woresening in your acne at first though(with retin-a)!!
