I already posted this topic in the "Introduce Yourslef" section but no one replied so im posting it here.

Hey guys, I just found out about this site today and have read a few topics and such and think that this site is amazing. But even after reading all the posts, I still have a few questions. I'm 15 and have never really had acne before until just recently. (Started about 3 months ago) Just recently its gotten ALOT worse. I have many "Red Pimples" but almost no white or black heads. I'm just wondering is this good and is there anything that can get rid of it fast because it really bothers me and I'm very self-confident about it. My dad had bad skin when he was about 17, it lasted about 1 year for him, and he has a few scars but nothing bad. I have a few pics and would like it if you guys could rate my acne "badness" on a scale from 1-10. Currently i am using "Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash" I have been using it for about 3 days. I chose this because I have VERY oily skin and have heard this will dry and get rid of the oil. If you guys have any better products please let me know because I'm desperate! If I posted this in the wrong section please could a mod just move it. Thanks a lot and I'm looking forward to your replys biggrin.gif

Hey Welcome to acne.org! wavey.gif This place is very addictive so Im just warning you

That is actually one of the worst products you can use for acne prone skin. You may want to try this neutrogena instead http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp...amp;id=prod7449 Ive been using it on and off for over a year. I dont know why I ever stopped using it because its my favorite cleanser.

Is there a way you can make it so the pictures arent so close up? Its too blurry for me.

Hi. You have inflammatory acne. That kind responds very well to Dan's Regimen. Benzoyl Peroxide in a low strength formula works nicely. Read about how to do his regimen and see if it works for you. Dan's Regimen

You don't want to dry up your face. You want to unclog your pores. The acne is caused by clogged pores, not only by oily skin.

Another good addition to the regimen is in my signature, the Baby's Hair Brush Method for exfoliating. Try that and see if you like the results. Smoother skin with better texture and fewer clogged pores, thus, less acne.

Sorry, I didn't notice they were so big.

Alao, i forgot to mention i am using "AcneFree Repair Lotion"
as a moisturizer. It "Time-Releases Benzoyl peroxide" 3.7% is this any good?

Is this any better? I think the picture might be a little blurry itself confused.gif

And thanks its glad to be here. you guys have a great community.

Yes thats a lot easier for me to say. It looks like you have moderate acne. It actually looks sort of similar to mine. I wouldnt use moisturizer at all especially if you have sensitive skin or acne prone skin. Moisturizer makes me break out

Ok, well I'm going to trust you guys.
Ive also done some research. Here will be my "New Future Regimen"

AM
Step 1 - Use the baby brush while in shower.
Step 2 - Wash with - Liquid Neutrogena Facial Cleansing Formula, Fragrance Free
Step 3 - Use the "AcneFree" 3.7% Benzoyl Peroxide repair lotion as a moisturizer

PM
Step 1 - Wash with - Liquid Neutrogena Facial Cleansing Formula, Fragrance Free
Step 2 - Use the "AcneFree" 3.7% Benzoyl Peroxide repair lotion as a moisturizer
Step 3 - Put ice or frozen bagged vegetable on face for 5 min.
Step 4 - Get at least 8 hours of sleep biggrin.gif

How does that sound?
And how long do you ESTIMATE it will take to improve (just a ball-park range is fine)

There are varying reports with length of time the Regimen takes to work. I do not use it so do not have experience with it. There are many people who use the regimen and they'll be able to tell you more about it. Here's the What to Expect bit about the Regimen.

For any new skin care regimen, you'll need to be consistent, conscientious, and patient. smile.gif Most take at least one month and generally MORE to see an appreciable difference.

But are you basing a month time period on someone who has many whiteheads or just acne in general? And for just having "Inflamed Acne" does this regimen sound good?

Sorry for all the questions its just you guys are so helpful. I'm addicted to this site. eusa_dance.gif
