Is BHA a good alternative to Mandelic acid?

I use Clerasil Daily Clense for sensitive skin and I'm wondering if Dan's Gentle Clenser is any good. Does it leave any residue on your skin? Does it over dry your skin? How does it compare with cetaphil's clenser? I ask because I'm about to run out of Clerasil and would like to purchase something else that is more economical. I'm also not sure if my clenser has a correct PH balance. Any input is appreciated.

Salicylic is a great alternative to mandelic. Mostly because salicylic can penetrate deeper into the pores meaning it will exfoliate inside the pore and release blockage. Mandelic only exfoliates the top layers of skin....some say that mandelic also exfoliates the inside of the pore which may be true, but not as deep as salicylic. So yes i would reccommend salicylic over mandelic anyday, especially Paulas. Its cheap and works great.
As for a cleanser, i never used dans but i hear its great and doesnt leave a residue. I would reccommend paulas choice cleansers though. Thats what i use now and i love them. I use all her products and would never use anything else. Plus her cleansers are decently priced and come in different sizes.

My samples from Garden of Wisdom arrived last Friday, but because I had just changed a couple of other things in my skincare routine, I'm doing my best to be patient (arrgh) and wait another week or so before adding the mandelic.

I haven't had any negative effects from BHA so far, and it's been over 3 months. There was slight purging in the beginning, but that's normal. I doubt Paula's BHA products would have such high reviews if they caused mayhem on your skin, so you really have nothing to worry about

I'm curious, what specific salicylic acid did you use? In my post I was referring to Paula's Choice products..
