Hi, I'm a 30 year with acne! I've suffered from mild to moderate acne since my teenage years.
I've actually only been to a derm once and only used Tetracycline. Everything else has been OTC stuff...which is obviously not working well. Most things work at first, then stop. I have good success with BP, as it clears up pimples pretty quick but when I use it all over instead of just as a spot treatment I find it dries my skin too much. Though I do use Clean & Clear which is a higher dose so I think I should switch to this stuff I see on here, the gel.
Anyway, I just had a bad breakout for some reason...I can't figure it out. I did out go drinking Friday night and didn't wash my face- but should that equal 6 new bumps?!?! Ugh. Only other things was that I wasn't taking my fish oil over the weekend.
Anyway, I was just reading around here...and thinking.
Would Sea Salt be beneficial? I just remember someone telling me once that all she did to heal her belly button piercing quickly was that she surfed a lot, the Sea Salt healed it in no time she said. I've heard it before too and I was just thinking about it now. I don't want to go on some meds that I know won't be a permanent fix, and will just cost money. But, I do need to do something- and I prefer the more natural (cheaper) approach. Oh, and I will not drink ACV, that just sounds nasty.
So, what do you think? Would a mixture of sea salt and warm water used a few times a day (as a face soak/toner type thing) work? Is this just silly thinking? Maybe I'm grasping...
Hi, I'm new here...

Sea salt has anti bacterial properties if I'm not mistaken. That's why some people put salt on scratches and minor wounds, it disinfects the area. I doubt it would cure any case of acne except the most insignificant ones, but i don't see how it could hurt.
I personally exfoliate with Epsom salt every now and then.
