Not long ago I posted on here following the saga of a very stubborn nose zit. After four weeks it came to a nice head that flaked off. All that remains of that is a red mark which is fading nicely and given my fading history should be pretty much unnoticeable in a month--it's one of those decieving ones that looks indented but isn't, I had a similar one on my forehead in early April that has almost faded completely with no indentation whatsoever.

However, as that one was entering its final days, another one developed right next door. This one is weirder and has been alive for a few weeks now. I don't even know how to classify it--it looks like a papule but is soft to the touch, especially when washing or wet. Nothing seems to help it much. It's been getting harder when not wet recently but has yet to form a head and when it's wet is still very mushy feeling.

If I view it on my nose (as you can do if you focus your eyes a certain way) it's raised no matter what, not a whole lot, but it's raised...and red.

My big concern? I don't want an indented scar on my nose. This pimple is strange so I'm concerned.

This sucker bled a little bit today but I stopped it with direct pressure and applied Neosporin to the area--it prevented scars on other bleeding zits. The general feel of this thing is still the same though. I think the size may have decreased slightly but not by much.

I'm going to try to contact a derm tomorrow as it's been 2+ weeks with this now and it hasn't changed at all. But if he's booked, especially because I'd be going in as a new patient, I don't know how much longer I can wait. I will try to get in tomorrow or Monday but I don't want to wait that long if it means potential for scarring. Family history shows no indented scarring on the nose on either side but I'm still concerned.

Otherwise I'm looking all right--a whitehead on the other side of my nose that will flake off any day now plus some random pimple on my lower lip that sprung up yesterday and is almost gone today are all I speak of. Vibramycin has taken care of what was on my arms and forehead. But now I just need to clear my nose up! It hasn't been good in a month and a half and I'm sick of it! It needs to be good by the end of the month!!!

The most important questions are right now:
1. What sort of pimple is this?
2. Any way to reduce it?
3. HOW CAN I PREVENT IT FROM SCARRING?
