I started getting really bad open comedones all over my cheeks! They are very DEEP inside my skin, but are NOT red, not inflamed, and they are VERY hard to get rid of. They are hard to pop too! I know I should do it, but usually you can pop acne. Not these because they are deep and I feel that they are clogged up in there... They are not coming out. They look like shaving bumps, but they are skin-color and are not noticeable unless you are 6 inches away from my face.
Whats the best soap I can get that will open up pores? I don't have time and money to order special stuff online. Is there something I can get from Walgreens?
I heard Dove body wash is good. But I have never seen FACE WASH. I only BODY washes from Dove. I never saw a face-specific wash....
I tried DUAC and other creams, but it doesn't do anything.
I do use regular soap for my back because I actually got rid of back acne with regular harsh soap. I use for face, but it makes it worse for face...
Help me open up my pores!

And BTW, Salicylic acid (BHA) did nothing for me for 2 weeks. My deep comedones weren't affected.
And another thing to say - this rapid breakout started as soon as I started eating LOTS of food and lifting heavy weights. My testosterone went up considerably so there is plenty of hormoanl change.

i lift myself as well for about 6 years now and i assume part of the reason for my oil and inflammation is from elevated testosterone
i have been taking fish oil heavily for months and it has helped a lot, i'll try saw palmetto and further dietary changes to see if i can reduce more byproduct formation (like DHT)
on the other hand if you die from a heart attack at 30+ will your clear face matter much then ? i don't think so so i'll stick with resistance training
and the whole notion of "hormones" is confusing, since most people label hormonal acne as acne which occurs along the jawline/mouth, while 99%+ of my bumps/whiteheads are located above the level of my mouth on my face so i'm pretty sure oil/inflammation is the problem, hot humid weather doesn't help either

In my experience, 2 weeks is way too soon to see a difference in comedones, especially deep ones. By 2 weeks in, my skin was beginning to look a little brighter and less dull, but it took a couple of months before I started to see a noticeable difference in terms of blackheads and clogged pores.
At this point, I've been using the 2% BHA liquid from Paula's Choice since the beginning of March, and it's definitely helping. My skin is probably 75-80% clearer than it was when I started.

Same here! I have been using BHA 2% lotion for 2 months and am just now seeing noticable results. Most of the comedones on my cheeks, forehead and hairline are gone and my skin tone is improving every day. My redmarks have faded alot also. My pores arent as huge and the ice pick scars are not as deep as they were before BHA. Two weeks is not an acceptable amount of time to see results from any acne treatment. Lorrie
