Hello!
Acne is NOT a disease! It is a symptom of an underlying problem, acne is your bodies way of telling you that something is wrong internally.
So you can keep putting that cream on, but the truth is your acne will only get worse because you are not treating the underlying problem. UNLESS! You have hormonal acne, you can keep putting the cream on and wait until those years of hormonal haywire go. Or go to your dr and take something that will keep your hormones in check, it's also worth girls checking your contraception pill, if you think that your acne started when you began taking it. Either way, you can relax and know that nothing else is happening to your body.
Acne, soooooooooo many things could be causing it, so it is important to look at other symptoms, and try and pinpoint an answer. This can be hard if you have been suffering for years, because what might be abnormal to your body, you might have become used to it and not even realise.
Here are some main things that can cause acne, starting with the smallest:
Hormonal - puberty (excess androgens)
Hormonal - pregnancy (excess progesterone)
Vitamin A defciency
B vitamin deficiency
Vitamin C deficiency
Zinc vitamin deficiency
Omega 3 (fatty acid) deficiency
Lack of friendly bacteria (Acidophillus and pro-biotics)
Liver Problems (when the liver is damaged, used hormones and toxins are pushed through the skin instead)
Poor immune system
Thyroid Problems
Stress (high cortisol) or Cushings Disease
Food Allergy, main culprits being milk and gluten.
Weak Digestive System, eg. low stomach acid, enzyme deficiency, intestinal parasites, clogged colon.
You have to look at what else is wrong with your body, not just the skin, you can contact me with your symptoms and i can help you come to a decision or you can talk to your dr, infact getting some routine blood tests at your local Dr surgery wouldn't hurt you!
For me i had an enzyme deficiency and omega 3 deficiency. My skin was very oily, i had acne on my back, chest and arms, and i would just get these horrible infections and my skin would get oily within 10 mins of washing.
But i also had dandruff, my skin didn't glow anymore, my hair was dry, my eyes weren't bright, my joints hurt, i was always bloated and full, gained weight, severe depression, couldn't sleep but felt constantly tired.
This was because my food wasn't being digested, because i had no enzymes, the food just sat in my stomach and rotted inside my intestines, i was malnourished and full of toxins. So you see! This is just my example, but there will be something wrong with you, you must sort your body, not just your skin.
Thanks.

This is what I've been saying for a long time.
Look at the people here who have used creams and antibiotics, there acne NEVER goes away and if it does for a short time it comes back.
Creams in my opinion do nothing for you, they wreak your face's natural skin and oils. I would tell anyone who is dealing with acne to just first go and see if its hormonal which in most cases it is. Start from the inside. Just cause you wash your face with the best soap doesn't mean nothing when it comes to how you eat or what you put inside your body.

Which enzymes do you take? And you mention
Will digestive enzymes aid to fix all the problems listed considering you are eating fine?
Also, how did you know it was both, and not just omega 3, or just digestive enzymes that fixed your problem?

I really doubt that the doctors are trying to screw you over, it is just too complex of a problem to find an easy solution to. It is hard for the medical world to treat something if it takes multiple approaches because it is hard to study multiple approaches in one study and be sure which things are making a difference.

This is such crap.
Funny how this person only joined yesterday and posted this. I won't be surprised if this poster doesn't come back with links to supplements/herbal remedies for acne.

I actually believe he is right, but it is really hard to figure out what is causing you problems. It is much easier to just treat the symptom. His list is probably not even all of the things that could be causing problems. If it were one test to check for every possible thing that causes acne that would be great and everybody could have the knowledge of how to get clear skin, but there is not one test and it is near impossible to figure out what is causing each individual their problems.
