I have the same exact thing! And if I try to pop them....DISASTER! Nothing comes out, and instead I get a horrible red mark that lasts for weeks and weeks!

I used to get them, but I discovered they are just deeper spots (not cysts, mind). Hard hard squeezing meant they'd pop and disappear quicker. Perhaps a different thing though, not sure.

Does anyone have anything else to say about this one? I know from my own experience that squeezing these will just make a mess of my face - will accutane resolve them?????? HELP! This is the only kind of acne I get, and if accutane isn't going to help, I am screweeeeeeeeeeeeddddddd

Have you guys tried Paula's Choice BHA? I had closed comedones out the wazzoo - those hard, small bumps that weren't inflamed - and Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid has gotten rid of 95% of my bumps in the ~2 months that I've been using it.

I used to have tiny bumps under my forehead just like that all the time, and if you would run your hand over my forehead back then you would feel them--tiny little bumps that drove me crazy. It would take months, even years for ONE to turn into a zit. I hated it. Then Neutrogena came around. Check out my topic in the over-the-counter board to see how it worked for me.

Sounds like exfoliation will help all of you with the hard, painful, or even just hard bumps that aren't painful. I've had now only one cyst since I started exfoliating almost two or so months ago. One! And it was during hormonal breakout time. Normally I'd have five or six at that time of the month and two to three the rest of the time.
I use a baby's hair brush as detailed in NdnRomeo's post about his method of exfoliation. I use my regular cleanser while scrubbing gently with the brush. Soft, smooth skin with far fewer breakouts.
