I've been on Accutane for about 4 months now and i've been 100% completely free of any kind of acne for 2 months now. I'm getting tired of the dry lips so would it be possible to stop treatment but keep my medicine in case the acne crops back up. That way i'd have 2 months of medicine left if I ever needed it? I had very mild acne before and now that it's gone I have a hard time believing it'll come back.

no, take all the medicine that was prescribed to you, even if the acne cleared, it can still come back. you need to take the full course even if your acne clears sooner.

I wouldn't stop it. If your doctor recommended 6 months, I would do 6 months. Plus, it's not safe to save the pills because then if you do take them in the future, you won't be under a doctor's supervision. How the heck did you get two months extra worth anyway? Most people only get one month at a time.

To be honest, I went against the advice of most people on this board and decided to stop my treatment after 3.5 months. I had been totally clear, my skin had purged, and I was just sick of thinking about it all the time. That was about 3 months ago and I'm clear except for one tiny little bump under my jawline. Other than that my skin is still perfect and i'm totally happy with my decision.

Just throwing that out there.
