I'm now a week into the roaccutane, and just have a few questions. How long will the IB last for? And secondly, is the very dry skin a permanent side effect, or is it something which will disappear?

The same questions are asked here in this forum almost every day. Read around and you'll get more than enough information.
Dry skin is not a permanent side effect, although, most people who were oily before accutane no longer are after the course is finished.
As for the IB, everyone's different. They say the "average" IB lasts about 2 weeks...but...you can't goo off that. Every person is different, every face is different.
