has anyone got the fraxle treatmentand breakout less afterwards.

i was wondering if it doens, could it damage oil glands, unclog pores or kill p.acnes bacteria?

Hey mollyWHITE,
I am new to this board, but not new to acne. I am going in Aug. 2 to get a conciltation from a derm about PDT or using the fraxle laser to clear active acne. I talked to one of the girls in the office and she did 2 of the PDT treatments and said it didn't do much for her. Then she had 1 fraxle treatment and her skin and acne improved dramatically. I still have yet to meet her, but maybe I will when I go in to see the derm. I will post more info after the appointment.

I actually canceled my appointment. I didn't want to waste $40 for him to tell me that it might not work completely. I have read a lot of message boards talking about the light treatments and also the lazer and some people say it worked for them, but most didn't. They just wound up going on accutane eventually. I don't really have the $550 for the PDT or the $1,000 for Fraxel per treatment to throw away. So I am going on accutane in a month because it is the cheapest of the three options with the best chance of results. Good luck to you and your decision. It is a tough one to make.
