I've never taken it personally so I cannot say how it works, but since dht is an androgen, and if acne is only caused by excess dht (the metabolism product of testosterone), then it will surely help. If, though, acne is caused by other androgens (there are plenty) then other methods are good. But it's very true, if you can supress and control excess androgens, it will clear you up. Same thing happened with me. About a month a half into fish oil, my body acne just stopped dead in it's tracks, the excess oil production went away, and I don't use any more products on my back. Just water!

I believe the main way it works spefically is by preventing dht to bind to androgen receptors. And you can see how that can stop sebum production.
