Personal history:
Ok, well, i feel like i've had acne forever. It started when i was in 7th grade, which was really embarrassing because none of the other kids in my class had ever even experienced a pimple, and here i was with a face full. So anyways, i went to my doctor and they gave me creams like benzaclin and antibiotics, but after 5 years, they finally figured out that nothing was working.

So finally this year, (now i'm a junior in high school) I begged my mom to let me try something more effective. I researched online about accutane, and although some of the horror stories about it scared me, I was still willing to take the risks, because i know it would be worth it if it worked.

So a couple of weeks ago, my dermotologist started me on accutane.. it was March 22, 2007. Yeah and I figured it would be a good idea to document my journey.

Week Uno:
I honestly haven't noticed any side effects yet, but it could also be because I reseached alot and I'm well prepared for what may happen. I stocked up on 2 packs of chapstick, got some Eucerin cream, as well as some Cetaphil and Elta mouistrizer, and added in Aquaphor. I've read alot of accutane logs online and that is what most of the people suggest.
So far the accutane hasn't made any changes on my face, good or bad. Hopefully it will kick in soon and start working, because i've dealt with acne for long enough.


Week Dos:
Ok so now I'm starting to get the dry skin and lips, although I always have chapstick at my side. A couple of days ago I got this really crazy rash on my right arm and wrist. It kinda of looked like dry skin with huge bumps, but I had been mouistrizing excessively so I don't see how it could just be dry skin. Hopefully it will go away, but I can always wear long sleeves to cover it up until it does.

In terms of my face, I would say my acne has been a little better, but nothing too great. Although ever since I started accutane I've been getting like a thousand little pimples on my jawline and upper neck, which is weird because i never got bumps there before. Also, my back and chest sprouted some crazy acne, and usually i only get a zit or two so I think accutane is working in the opposite direction. Oh well, i've heard that initially it gets worse so hopefully i'll get through this part quick.

Nice to see that u got your own log... wish u well on the Tane.

Yeh u will experience all these crazy stuff whilst on the Tane... such as breakouts in places where u never had acne problem... redness... dryness (most common which can leads to other problems) so on... list goes forever!!

Anyways.. all the best 121!!
