Hi Guys,

Looking for a bit of advice before I take the plunge and fork out £180 on one of these.

Here is my story - sorry for it being so long

I have "acne" on the right side of my cheek. What tends to happen is that I will get a red pimple and a whitehead appears 2-3 days later. The white head is different to spots that I get say on my chin as the puss does not tend to be liquid but more a small solid "ball" of puss. Once the small ball of puss has been removed (either by me being impatient and squeezing it out it coming out after washing my face) then a small dent has been formed behind naturally where the ball was and hence the development of an icepick scar. Hence everytime I get such a pimple and know a long lasting scar will develop regardless of whether I squeeze or let it be.

I have been on oxtetracycline for around 5 years now, two a day. I do not know whether this helps as I still get a pimple once a month or every other month but everytime I do I know I will get a scar.

Therefore although I don't always have visible acne, I want to know whether the beautyskin lamp will put an end to the pimples from ever appearing again? will it destroy the underlying problem which forms the ball of puss if I use it constantly?

Any advice on the above will be of great help.

Thanks guys

The blue light does similar things to the tetracycline. The red light however might help to minimise and heal scarring.

Just out of curiosity, do you form keloid scars on other parts of your body?

I do have acne across top of arms and top of back but I don't suffer from the ice pick scars like I do on my face

"I have been on oxtetracycline for around 5 years now"

Why???? Thats far too long!!!!

I think thats a disgrace - your doctor needs shooting!!!! lol

At the very least you should have moved onto another antibiotic by now, maybe even accutane.

As for the light, well just try it and see I think.

Best of luck,

Tim
