I've tried the follow brands:
-Purpose Dual Purpose (Non-AHA)
-Cetaphil w/ SPF 15
-Clean and Clear (with 0.5% Salacylic Acid)
-Neurtogena Oil-Free Moisture w/ SPF 15
All of them work ok, but make my face shiny and oily. So for now, it's either have a shiny face or a flaky white face
-Snake
I have similar skin as you and I just began using Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel (combination oily to oily). I have used it a few times and so far, I like it. It feels nice and doesn't make my face appear oily, even when putting a bit more.

aloe vera is half-decent as a moisturizer - at one point i would put one layer, let it dry, then put another layer, let that dry, etc. until the dryness was gone - sadly it's not very effective, although it might be moreso when you first use it.

I really recommend Desert Essence Organic Jojoba oil for everyone but especially for you... from what i understand you cant use bp or sa on ur face when ur on accutane so just 4-6 drops of jojoba oil gently rubbed on damp face after cleansing will moisten the hell out of your face... its not greasy if u dont use too much and u can always pat ur face afterwards but neways its great and most everyone who tries it loves it, some breakout at first because it supposidly cleans clogged pores but i never had the problem i just love the stuff. I dont even use a regular moisturizer... i wash my face, put the jojoba oil on then my sa medications a pearl sized Fruit of the Earth 100% aloe vera and my face has never been dry (i do have oily skin). Hope this helps

You need to mix Aloe Vera gel with your favorite moisturizer. Some may find the gel alone moisturizing enough but not me.

I have that problem to and I break out from almost every moisturizer I use. Does that happen to you also?

Will do. Thanks for the tip

Garnier Nutritioniste Daily Regenerating Skin Renew Moisture Lotion

This is by far the best moisturizer I have ever used. It is oil-free, doesn't clog pores, and is light. Works well with any acne medication absorption wise. Improves skin tone too.
The best part though? OIL FREE SHINE. I get absolutely no increase in oil production on my skin afterwards....it looks like I never even used a moisturizer! (oil wise)
I love it so much I just picked up their cleanser today too.

And is the Vitamin A in the aloe vera gel safe for your face while on Accutane?

And is the Vitamin A in the aloe vera gel safe for your face while on Accutane?
I have the same question!
I just started taking Accutane (4 days so far - 40mg a day). My skin is starting to get a bit drier and I just want to act and use the best products and avoid the side effects as much as possible.
Also I'm worried about the scaring, and the skin not regenerating cells at the normal rate.
Is using an antioxidant good while on Accutane?
I just ordered the following products from Paula's Choice, does anyone have experience with them:
RESIST Advanced Replenishing Toner Skin Remodeling Complex
RESIST Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator
RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum
I know they sound as 'anti aging' products, but since they encourage healthy skin production I thought it's a good way to counter act the side effects?

I've used a bunch of store bought moisturizers over the years. I think all make me break out more. Even the ones that list "natural' ingredients. But recenty I came across a blog on using ALOE VERA GEL (at least 98% pure) and JOJOBA OIL. It's making a HUGE difference. My skin feels soothed and not itchy/irritated. I mix a dime-sized amount of aloe vera and a few drops of oil in my palm and then gently smooth it all over face/neck day and night. The amount depends on how much you need. I was getting blotchy dry spots from spot treatments I was using right before so I stopped them all and just use this now. Not only has it made my skin feel/look better, it seems to make the old scars and pimples lighter. I also drink about 10 glasses of water a day and hardly use dairy/sugar in my diet, which means almost no restraurant food (even chicken broth contains milk). My acne is mostly hormonal and the diet change also really helps!
Let me know if this works for you!
