Hi all, I live in France and I'm 17 years old (originally from Texas, i'm actually moving back to join the Marine Corps in September). I have had acne since age 14 and recently could not take it anymore, I had tried everything from antibiotics, to creams, to everything you can imagine. I was finally put on accutane and have been on it for four days..I will try to post weekly pics of myself to show any progress..

Days 1-4:

No noticeable progress, and no side effects, just dry lips. After reading all the other accutane logs,I'm guessing that this is normal.

what up man. I just finished my 6 month 'tane course. I used all sorts of different crap cuz I was wary of the side effects of tane. But it was the best. I've had acne since I was 13 and I'm 21 now. I wish I had taken tane the first chance I had instead of waiting and being disappointed with ALL the other shit I tried. so good luck.

Do you still have red marks?or will these bastards go away by themselves? I am covered in them.

Some of my red marks faded. However my cheeks are just red in general and I'm hoping that will fade soon. It will take time but your red marks should go away too. Just be patient with it. I didn't keep up with my pics or anything but I'd like to see how your skin is. I had really bad acne but once I started taking 'tane It was crazy. I even forgot about this site I was enjoying my skin and confidence so much.

35 mg /day..is that alot?

i think that's pretty good. i'm only on 30mg/day. i've heard it helps to start out on a low dosage because it might reduce the chance of a really bad IB. but then again, i'm pretty much still clueless. hopefully it's true though!!

Day 5

I woke up this morning and my face felt as sore as hell, I don't know if the fact that I sleep on my stomach and that my face is rubbing my pillowcase constantly has anything to do with it..

My old acne seems to have tried up for the most part and the skin is peeling all around it..Is this normal for day 5...Or are things happening fast..or slow?

The only problem is that I can feel cysts underneath my skin that are just waiting to emerge..A minimum of 5 of them is there anything i can do to prevent this? I hate cysts...the bastards leave the worst red marks!

Day 8

Oh my god please kill me now :'( My acne has gotten much worse since I started this treatment..I have at least 20 active spots and cysts all over my face!! My Derm told me to contact him if I got any IBs does this mean he will take me off of tane if I do ?? Please help!
