It does. Many people on here like Head & Shoulders and Nizoral too. They are expensive though.

Irritating your skin doesn't help get rid of it

Maybe not for you but for some others on this board it seems to be making quite a difference, so instead of generalising you negative comments why don;t you apply the comment to yourself, this way some poeple wont get pissed at ya !

Some dandruff shampoos have salicylic ascd in them as a main ingredient thats why it clears pimples around the body.

I used this... not for body acne, but for treatment of very strange symmetrical, round, non-palpable hypopigmentations all over my arms and now circulating my knees. Initially we (my doctors & professors) assumed it was tinea versicolor (a skin fungal infection) even though it was not raised or different in texture. I caked this on my entire body every night; waited about 20-25 minutes and then rinsed it off in the shower. It did nothing for me (I don't really have body acne...) except give my skin and bathroom a terribly funky smell that could not be neutralized!!

That was over four months ago and I swear I still get a whiff of that stuff occasionally in my bathroom.

Also, my white spots are still here. I have also tried lamisil for a few months... ultimately concluding this is NOT a fungal infection. I've consulted 3 dermatologists and none have a clue what could be causing this. Anyone else have this weird condition?

Dial is fine if it's not too irritating for you, personally. Some people find that Dial helps out their body acne. For me, I like Cetaphil Sensitive Skin antibacterial bar very much. smile.gif

I find this very interesting because sitting in my shower is selsun blue 3%. If only I knew sooner to use it as a body wash! See I have dandruff but not so bad that I'm willing to dry my hair out with A dandruff shampoo, especially as strong as the one I have. See not only do I live in Florida making it impossible to avoid the sun, I love tanning! I try to not do it excessivly, and use aloe Vera gel, tanning lotions/oils and breakout free low SPF sunscreen. I notice though that the sun not only clears up my skin and reduces its oiliness, it gets rid of my dark acne marks as well! Anyway because of this I started tanning as soon as it got warm but I developed these white spots on my arm, something I had similarly got 3 years ago. Well I searches up what it could be and several things came up, but the most simple one was the fungus under the skin previously mentioned on this board. Easy answer was selsun blue 2%. So I went to Walgreens And they only had 1% and 3%. I got the three percent and rubbed it on my arms 3 to four times for about five to ten minutes before or during my showers. So after two weeks I tanned again and sure enough no white spots this far! I will let you guys know if it returns but it does help with the white spots you get from tanning! That is if it is due to the fungus.
I noticed it does have a cool tingling feeling and if it does get rid of a fungus... Why wouldn't it reduce bacteria that causes acne?!? I say personally it's worth a try so I'm going to use my three percent and let y'all know! Dont knok it till you try it and honestly... I'm desperate to find a way to get rid of my acne! I have reduced 70 percent of it! Almost there! But seriously if acne controls your life as much as mine, you will be willing to explore any option in hopes to find relief!
