I want some input on acne scar removals using laser. Also there is some red/brown pigmentation which needs correction.

1) Personal experience .
2) Recommendations in LA area ( Beverly Hills, Burbank, Hollywood, Glendale , Pasadena, North Hollywood, West Hollywood ).
3) Average cost

My background whistling.gif I am a 36 yr old male...I have had acne since 10 or so...I do have occational adult acne now. I took Accutane full course 4 yrs back and most of my acne is gone. I do have scars, red/brown pigmentation which I am keen on removal. I have tried microdermabrasion about 1 yr but it was of no help.

I am currently receiving Laser Genesis treatments. They come in a series of one or five. Most people need the 5 which is what I needed. I have had 2 so far and have noticed the size of my pores has reduced and I am not as oily anymore. The lady told me that it usually takes atleast 3 treatments before I see a visual difference in the redness and scars and that my results are great after my fifth one. You get them every 3-4 weeks. I am getting my third one next friday the 30th so I am anxious to see if they work. I have red spots and one pock mark scar or chicken pox scar whatever you call it. The laser is supposed to start working from the bottom layer of skin and move up to the surface. The place I get mine at charges $850 for 5 treatments. Their website is www.rejuvenateclc.com They will tell you about it and then they have a link to the manufactorer of the laser where you can see before and after photos..

Ok, sorry I was wrong, they do not have a link on their website. Here is the website for the manufactorer

http://www.cutera.com/

just click on patient information and then on laser genesis.
Here is the website for before and after pictures

Also, my mother tried the Obagi Nu Derm System and she loved it. Her skin looks great. It got rid of her spots.. It cost her $400 but it will make your skin peel and be very uncomfortable for about 6 weeks and then it gets dramatically better. I opted for the laser genesis because their is now down time or peeling or redness or pain. Just get the treatment and go about your day. Check out www. obagi.com click on the nu derm system and look at before and after photos.. hope this helps

How did the rest of the Laser Genesis sessions go? Are you happy with the results? I am considering this treatment, so I'd love to hear a real firsthand account!

Don't have any personal exp. but i have been looking in those areas....

Looked to get fraxel, partial treatments:

Pasadena - Advanced Laser Center
laserbeauty.com
Looks like a good place for fraxel, went for a free consult with Dr. Seltzer & he was surprisingly really nice and realistic. I'm probably going to end up getting fraxel there.
Cost: $750 for 4-6 tx's; 6 tx's + is $650

West Hollywood - West Side Medical Spa
WestSideMedicalSpa.com
Gave me the cheapest quote on fraxel for $600-$650. RN seemed nice but haven't really heard anything about this place although they were on the news for like 15 min. nose jobs

Also went to one in Irvine - Total Dermatology
Total Dermatology
Hear Dr. Pilest has a good RN there that goes aggressive for fraxel, but it was just too pricey for me @ $1,000 for partial

HI mnsweeps, there are various treatment available now that can help you deal with that acne scar dilemma. I can name one, which is Acne Scar Laser Surgery. It is available in most of the dermatological clinics that you can think of. Ask them, if they have it. Then go for it. It's worth a try.
