Can a washcloth cause to get more spots and pimples? I already had pimples but my face feels wierd..Could the jojoba oil have something to do with it? anybody have trouble using jojoba oil?
This is what I've been using...
Dove sensitive skin soap
St ives apricot scrub sensitive skin (once a day)
jojoba oil
I break out of and on...I just recently started using a washcloth with the dove soap...Doesn't seem to be doing anything really...I don't understand..How come my body is clear and smooth but my face is nasty..why????
I can't find anything that will work.. I don't think I will ever have clear skin again...my skin is messed up...Spots are hard to fade...Its hard to clear my forehead now...I don't know how that happened...My forehead was usually more likely to be clear..I've been having this problem for about 6 months now...
I tried that benzoil stuff but i don't want to use BP all the time to stay clear.. Im not sure about long term on skin either...but that's the only thing that keeps me from breaking out and even that cannot eliminate the spots...I have too many spots...

If BP works for you, then you might try incorporating it into your regimen on a regular basis. Have you used it as part of your daily routine, or just to spot treat? BP can work to prevent new acne from forming, so you might want to have it as part of your daily regimen. Have you read anything about Dan Kern's regiment? You might try reading about it on this messageboard - it is a specific regimen that uses BP - many people have had good luck with it.

yankee, have you tried taking zinc supplements? If you havent, I know it sounds like a long shot caus it doesnt seem as though it is a standard acne medication, however if you have a zinc deficiency, your face is a breeding ground for zits. Zinc actually breaks down the chemical reaction that creates sebum in your face. It also rejuvenates new skin cells to help old acne and scars heal. So, if your not getting enough zinc, your body doesnt stand a chance. There is nothing fighting that sebum being created. Zinc is cheap. 4 bucks for a 3 month supply. Buy 100 capsules of 50 mg. pills and take once a day with food. Dont overdo it. Over 100 Mg and you will get sick. I hope this advice helps give your body a fighting chance

Nothing you've listed will actually help kill the bacteria, in my opinion you need something like BP or Hydrogen Peroxide to kill the bacteria and help minimise breakouts.
Have you tried Dans regimen before?

Quit messing around with stuff that doesn't work. Go see a skin specialist and get it taken care of. I'm a big fan of accutane, but you need to decide for yourself, but I do stronly urge you to consult with someone who has the training and experience - and bag of options - to solve your problem.

Have you tried aloe vera? With it's multiple antioxidant, moisturizing, scar releaving, and exfoliates the skin- that would be a good start. It takes the skin 30 days to rejuvenate/heal itself. Have someone take a picture before you start and then once a week for 4 weeks using aloe in the morning and right before bed. Put the aloe on after your cleansing. Stop the oil and the scrub treatments. Change your diet to include more water. Make sure the "aloe" is the first ingredient in the aloe vera product before you purchase it. The pictures will show progress. This will take some time - be patient.

and ditch the apricot scrub. i heard that stuff is absolutely awful for skin. its so harsh, its meant for people who are not prone to acne. having acne means that you have sensitive skin, and what is essentially tiny pebbles scraping your face is not really what you want to do.
if you want to exfoliate, mix 1 part baking soda with one part water to form a paste and gently rub that in and wash off. you can finish up with about a 6:1 apple cider vinegar and water mixture to use as a toner if you like. theres tons of info about baking soda.acv on the board.
