I remember when I was 18 I had taken BC and it kept me mostly clear. Well In my early 20's I stopped taking it and the acne didn't come back. Now I'm breaking out again and it's big hard bumps under my chin. I don't know if it's hormonal or not but I really want to get this taken cared of. Do you think birth control would be my solution? Thank you.

i was in the same boat as you and i went on the pill and it made my acne 10x worse.

all depends on your hormones/body chemistry etc..

I took Dianette (american name Diane 35) for a few years and that did help to keep my acne under control. However, when I stopped taking it my acne came back 10x worse. My doc said the pill may have made it worse (great - thanks!). If you are getting cystic acne, it may be worth considering Accutane. Whilst it isn't a certain cure, at least that stands a chance of getting rid of acne for good, rather than for however long you are taking it.
