Well, taz has cleared me up enough not to be embarrassed by zits...but now my skin is very rough and almost aged from being on it. The worst part is my oily skin makes it look ten times worse. I almost think my skin looks "used and abused", so to speak.
Is there any kind of cleanser or moisterizer that would help with the poor skin texture caused by acne treatments? Please help, my self esteem is worse now than when I had a bunch of pimples.
Rough, but super oily skin

I know exactly what you mean, I have/had the same thing.
I'm saying this before I continue though, prepare yourself for months of recovery. Nothing is gonna work overnight. My skin looked
absolutely terrible for a while, acne-free.. but terrible, old people (80+) had better skin then I did. it's getting slightly better now, but
it's only been a couple of weeks before I found something that worked.
Oke, now it took me a while to figure it out, I thought the oil was the problem, and tried stopping it, with salicylic acid mostly..
I thought that when I could get the oil-production under control my skin would get better.
Wrong approach, it dried my skin out even more (and made it look crappier), and there was even more oil produced.
Now I use something called "uierzalf", it's a Dutch name, and product, no idea what it's called in English though. But what it basically
comes down to is that it's neutral "fat". It's not as bad as it sounds. You just wash, smear it on and leave it on, do this after dinner
till you go to bed. Before going to bed, take a shower, get the hot water to soft it up, use some neutral soap and a scrub gel to get it all off. And (if your
skin is anything like mine), it'll feel much healthier and look healthier in a matter of days.
Oh, and since I've stopped drying out my skin, and put the "neutral fat" on my face every-night, my oil production is actually way way less then what
it was before.

I'm sorry I can't give you any specific English product names. But this'll atleast prevent you from taking the wrong approach and make your skin even
worse like I did. Goodluck.

Hello,
I have very oily skin too..but you might want to try this which I just got from one of the message boards here...so far I have been using it for 3 days and surprised that it is effective....just vinegar or apple cider vinegar + Lemon ( i prefer freshly squeezed) + Water.........or if you think your skin can tolerate it, just vinegar and lemon ( works for my friend this way too)...Aside from being natural sources, very affordable, practical and safe too.. It dries and clears acne, closes pores too...then try non-greasy moisturizers (e.g. cetaphil) and drink lots of water too and multivtiamins... Goodluck and do not worry so much:)
