Your derm is right. The deep scars will not fill up completely after laser treatments. For that deep scar, go for something evasive like subcision.

i've seen good results with fraxel.
I've done two treatments but have another two to go so won't be sure till the end but thus far i'm very happy.
I have mostly shallow scars but maybe three deep ones. the deep ones i have noticed fill in quite a bit even though i've done only two treatments so its encouraging but yeah, wont be able to give a true indication till the end of my treatments.
Treatment 3 will be mid April 2007 and treatment 4 will be mid May 2007.

I was trying to post something here a minute ago and accidentally hit a button and the entire thing disappeared!!! I am not sure what happened there but I if the same message appears twice- thats why.
Anyway... I was saying that I had my first fraxel yesterday. So far, I am pleased. I had basically no downtime.. the only thing is that I was red for about three hours. But no swelling whatsoever. I am now a pinkish color that is easily hidden with a mineral powder. My setting was 40 mj.
As far as results.. I can see a definate improvement on smoothness, texture, and tone. I am very pleased with this. However, I heard (from reading other postings on this board) that true results can not be judged until two weeks after treatment b/c of microswelling. Does anyone have any experience or opinions on this? But if my results stay like they are (other than the pink) I would say that fraxel works. My concern is that the results will fade and my skin will look as it did before. I will post back in case anyone is interested and is considering fraxel.
I am scheduled for three more treatments- I am looking forward to seeing how those go.
If anyone has any experience, insight or anything to say about fraxel.. I am interested in reading it!

Yup, microswelling always occurs....you can't judge it till about two weeks afterwards.....it will go back but not completely back you may notice a subtle change but i really think it is important to remember changes aren't suppose to be noticed till after a few months....so if you notice anything then ace......but the whole point is to get the cells to re form and collegen to be stimulated which takes at least 28 days after each hit......
good luck.

Thanks for letting me know, fraxel. I figured that was the case.
I do see improvement on smoothness and texture. Even if the scars come back after microswelling, I will be okay with the progess Ive had for only one treatment.
I will post back.
I would like to post pictures, I am just not sure how to do it yet.
