hi,
thanks for the replies.
i need to find out where all the nice young single girls will be! this is the problem. they arent really at evening classes or volunteering so far as i can see! anyway i'll look into both to check my assumptions out. they seem to be already in relationships or in fixed social groups.
anyway, i see girls i fancy on the bus or just around town... but i never talk to them.
yeh i do have social anxiety according to a psychiatrist i saw about 2 years ago.
i like the move to america idea. what could i do there though? i'm not really qualified to do anything much! i don't like hugh grant but i'm sure i could perfect a character take off to charm american girls, or just tell them i know prince harry.

Hi all! I am so thankful that I am married to one of the most wonderful man in the world because if it was not for him I do not know what I would do. I am 29 & have had occasional acne since a teenager. 3 years ago it became moderate to severe & I was just dating my husband at the time. We have a wonderful marriage & he tells me that I am the most beautiful woman in the world to him every single day & I truly believe he feels this way. But, I have become like a hermit, avoiding all social contact if possible, although I am very close to my family. I am scared to have kids because I am so emotionally drained from my acne & terrible acne scars. I feel old & tired all the time. The texture of my skin look awful, like a battlefield. Most of my life I have been a very pretty girl. I used to get compliments everywhere I went, but of course since acne that does not happen. I used to be a social butterfly & now I put my head down & try to go unnoticed. Mirrors are painful & try to avoid them. I actually feel better when I avoid them altogether however sometimes I have to because I meet with clients & need to touch up my make up. I just wish the world was different & life was easier for me, & you as well. I do believe in miracles, I am just waiting for mine. God Bless!

I'm from the UK and I don't binge drink, instead I like to go surfing mountain biking, work out at the gym, do martial arts, swimming, play football for my local team, and go camping in the summer- I meet loads of people this way and nobody gives a sh!t about my acne.
Though I know where you're coming from when you say the uk is full of binge drinkers, trust me there are people out there who do constructive things in their spare time.
You just need to give yourself a push to get out there, leave your comfort zone for a little while!
