I have had a folliculitis for months, but it has been moderate. Here and there i'd get a spot about the size of a cystic pimple on my scalp, it would swell like a cystic pimple and the hair on it would shed, leaving me with a small bald spot, those usually go away in a few weeks-1 month and the hair grows back. Lately my scalp has broken out, I have lots of rashes with whiteheads, TONS of flaking, and painful little yellow, red, and black scabs which I pick sometimes because they are so irritating. This really sucks, i'm too embarressed to go and get a haircut because it is that bad. I started off with cystic acne on my face only, i was treated with tetracycline and minocycline. I don't get much on my face anymore, but my scalp is ridiculous. My Derm diagnosed me with dissecting cellulits and tried Dapsone at first, to no avail. I just started taking accutane 60 mg/day hopefully it helps. Has anyone else had this condition? Is there anything I can do to relieve the scabbing and pain? besides the tane i also use denorex shampoo but that doesn't do much good...HELP! any suggestions?

i to also have acne on my scalp but it is mostly on the back of my head. I too get whiteheads or cysts and leave me with baldspots on the back of my head. I use head and shoulders and to little help it worked. But mostly dont use clippers cause it irritates the skin so use scissors. me on the other hand being in the marines im fucked cause i have to always get it cut with a clipper everyweek = /.
Try antibiotics thats what i use and it helps. but its a pain taking pills everyday. so you are not alone i have it also and it hurts alot and is embarassing

i heard head and shoulders works really well for that too!
