Im 17. Male. I'm healthy...just have a lot of acne, haha. Gets wose when I shave and stuff. I have bad skin bascally. I hope accutane works. Im on 40MG a day. I took my first pill today.
I've had bad acne for a while (a year or two). It was worse before and is getting better now, but I have a lot of marks and am still getting a lot of acne ... but they're not whiteheads. I rarely get white heads and they're really small when I do. Hopefully accutane not only stops the acne and stuff, but also helps out with the marks and scars or somethig. I'll see. These meds are hella-expensive so I hope they work, haha. Im going off to collge in like 7 months so if accutane could work its magic by then I'd be pretty happy, haha. Going to New York with clear skin would be AWESOME.
So...
DAY 1: Nothing as expected, haha.

DAY 8: Ok, so it's been a week. Started school again. I'm breaking out with little whiteheads, but I dunno, its not too bad yet. My face hasnt really dried to a crisp as my friend said his did, so Im guessing its still brining out all the acne before it kills it? I dunno...just playing a waiting game till I start seeing it get better. My lips need lipbalm at least 5 times a day now. Its not that anooying. But my face is really sensitive and I dont like touching it. i hope these stupid whiteheads stop and all my other acne goes away too soon and I start seeing some clearing. I have a lot of scars so Im just worried that even if it clears, ill still have a bunch of hideous scars. I hope its just an illusion and goes away with the medicine/time.
Thats really about it for today. yay.

What can i say? Im getting "bad" acne along my jaw and neck, but I'm hoping it'll go away in the next week or so. It seems like my acne is in weekly periods. My face is less read apparently (according to some friends). I am getting really itchy skin that falls all over the place and looks like dandruff -- feels so good. Almost like snow kills the spring it feels like this white stuff is killing my acne. I like it. Face isnt hurting or drying out too bad. But my lips are. Back-ache still going and stuff.
Im only on week 3 but I can see signs that this is going to work. I can feel it. GOOD BYE BAD SKIN!

So far my skin has been getting kinda dry -- but it's not actually too bad, except for around my mouth and stuff. The rest is drying, but not that much really. I have these annoying bumps and recurring acne on my left cheek and jaw-line. I need to get rid of those. My lips are dry but I pack so much lip-balm on 'em that they feel ok. My nose is getting dry too -- inse and outside. I'm a little worried though because my skin was actually dryer before and Im thinking maybe I'm getting used to 40 mg a day...should I try and up my dose?
I dont know though -- this stuff takes a while to work, right? So I'll just hang in there for another month and see if it's progressing any further. I can see, although not huge, some improvement to my face and I just want to that to conitinue. I'm going to wait it out one more month -- and then if I'm not seeing anything happen, I'm going to ask my doctor to bump me up a notch.
My body acne (around my shoulders and back) is starting to swell up and hurt. But you know -- I feel pretty good. I think this stuffs gonna work for me. I can feel it, hahaha.

I think I may be going through the "initial breakout" again from starting the treatment after a week of no pill, but Im not sure. I have a couple of pimples on my left cheek and they kinda make me feel shitty and insecure about the meds.
These pills arent drying up my skin as much as people talk about -- my skin is fairly normal texture right now and I'm already on the second month. Do you think its too low of a dose? Im on 40 MG a day and I weigh about 145-150 lbs. I got some more on my forehead too -- and they dont usually come out there. And none of these are white heads ... they're red bumps.
I'm just gonna wait all this out and come next month see if my doctor will up my dose if my skin isnt drying the way its supposed to.
I just gotta wait ... right? I keep second-guessing these meds and I havent even given them enough time to work i guess. I just dont want anymore acne.

Lips dry. skin drying. skin getting smoother. Acne going down. I think i'm alright. In another month I should be better. And after 6 months I hope to be completely cured, haha.

The redness is totally normal, it sucks, but it's worth it when you're clear in 6 months time!
