starting - 10th january 07
morning - 20mg isotretinoin pill
evening - 20mg isotretinoin pill

Finally i got this magic pills.
2 weeks ago I decided I want isotrtinoin, but I knew I'll have problem to get it. This is because DKR, lol, side effect of DKR is that doctors don't want to give you accutane because they think you don't have acne.
Firs I wisited this lady derm, I talked to her on the phone and said how my situation looks like and if she'll be willing to give me accutane. She said: "oh possibly come visit we'll talk". So I visited her the next day (some ppl here say they have to wait months for appointment gasp.gif, thats fucked up) and she said sth like "no way I'll give you isotretinoin, I can't even see any acne, all you need is maybe some peel for the red marks" . So i tell her about the DKR and that if I stopped it my face would cover in pimples within two weeks, and she said "than do it, if this is true I will give you isotretinoin", and I say no way I'm doing this, I have life to live, uni and stuff.
Dropping DKR = after two weeks pimples then I get accutane, but it would take about two months or even more to clear me up, so no way, I'll stick with DKR at leats one month into my accutane course.
She said that no way any derm will prescribe me accutane... but she was so wrong, lol, if I want accutane I'll get it biatch
The nex one I visited was way better than she.
I visited him the next day, and the visit was sth like:
He: Good afternoon
Me: Good afternoon
He: What's the problem
Me: I need isotretionoin, you can't really see...blah blah (i was about to start my ance story but after few words...)
He : Okay, so how much do you waight?
Me : 70kg
He: So we'll start with 40mg/day....
.....
.....

Lol, he is so cool
I'm telling you women suck as derms, they are too scared to give you accutane.

He gave me prescribtion for one month of 40mg and tld me to do some blood tests. But then he said that later he wants to lower the dosage... no no no sir, no way, we'll get it higher, he just dosen't know it yet

I haven't started taking pills yet, coz i'm afraid of IB and I don't want it to come during christmas/new years eve. So I'll start 10th january.

And I need a job to afford the whole course, coz it's damn expensive. Hopefully I'll get one soon. Wish me luck.

And sorry but no pictures in my log, coz
1. I don't have camera
2. I don't have money to buy camera

If someone is starting isotretoin course about the same time i do, please let me know, coz i already feel like i need some accutane-journey-buddy, so that we could cry together when we get IB and lough together when we're done.

That's all so far, will update on 10th jan.

Hey-

Just wanted to wish you luck on your course! You and I are doing a similar treatment - I started 5 days ago, am doing 40mg every other day for the first 6 weeks, then will probably be bumped up to 40mg every day.

not always true, i didn't even have to ask for accutane and my acne wasn't that bad. my (female) derm suggested it.

Best of luck with your course.

By the way, it's not the gender that makes a difference; it's the dermatologist.

Jordan19 and Walk The Wire your absolutely right, i bet some female doctors are cool, it just that i visited 4 female derms and all of them sucked, lol, but i shouldnt have generalized, my apologise to all good female derms ;]

cutiie0xcakess yeah i got it easy from this derm, but he wants to put me on low dose so its not that good, moreover I should have been given accutane two years ago, i wouldn't have marks and scars now..., but im happy anyway, better late then never lol, and two weeks is not that much, im so happy the oil will be gone, and i'll do anything i can to make it go forever!(cant really do much lol)

good luck to you and do enjoy a life changing experience... don't rush for the higher dose, you don't know yet how your body will react to the isotretinoin.

Month 2 Day 2 (overall day 33 I think)

Hi answerme, you chose a good day to leave a note in my log ;], cause I haven't updated in 2 weeks.

I don't know who invented isotretinoin, but I love that person. This medication works super.
After a month I dont get new acne (although I still use a little bit of bp), my skin doesn't get oily at all - which is great, after 12 houres there's not even a single sign of oil on my face.
The bad things are dry lips and terrible back pain, but I can take it with no problem.

How do you think if I stop using bp will I start breaking out? I'm not doing the whole DK regimen, I only use a little bit of bp every 2-3 days at night, but still I'm not sure if I won't break out when I stop using it completely. Anyone can say anything about that?

great to hear! i love dryness too! haha!
so you're still using bp? in my case i stopped using my topical medications after the first few weeks because they caused my skin to be too dry and a bit flaky. and it was a good decision i made. i decided to use them again after about a month from the time my course ended.
good luck! eusa_angel.gif

Hello Marcin, Thanks for the kind message you left in my log. I go tomorrow to see the derm to my get second months perscription, and I am not sure if they will up the dosage or not, but we shall see. I am only on 40mg a day now. Yes, at times, it is painful, but yes, in the end it will be worth it! I know what you mean about not having oily skin...I love that! Its not dry because I make sure and use lotion ALOT and I haven't had any new break outs at all. As far as if you stop using your bp if you will break out, I would say I hope not. Doesn't using bp make it really dry and/or painful? I would think it would with me...but if it works for you...lol Take care and good luck!!

Hello

Just a qucik update on my log, mostly good news smile.gif

I stopped using bp about two weeks ago and everything is fine so far so hopefully I'm done with using bp forever.

The bad thing is my face looks red and all the redmarks look much worse :\ but I thing its because of isotretinoin and that it will get better soon.

thats mostly everything to report

see you soon ;]
