I only do it after work or when I first wake up in the morning now. So I wait a good 8 hours after I wash my face. I do this right before I wash my face bacause I am a little nervous about the sticky gunk on the tape causing a break out or something and I like to wash it off.

Hi guys
I had the thin version of the tape earlier .. i got the thicker scotch tape today. one swipe is much better than multiple ones .. much less hassle. Lets see how this works out for me.. 3-4 days since i started using it , not much diff yet..
ciao

Wouldn't the sticky part cause your pores to clog up? I mean, that stuff is really thick! I am worried about that, but other then that I see no reason why I shouldn't try it. 8)

I did this tape thing for the first time today and my skin felt much smoother afterwards. I'll keep at it once a day and see how it goes but I'm very hopeful. I can see how people feel tempted to go over the same places again and again but the last thing i want is a horrible rash so I'll wait till tommorow :X

I must be blind, ever since I've been at this board. I had yet to see this thread till today :/. Welp, im going to be trying it tonight and see how it works :D.

And Maya, do you know if using normal scotch tape (beige colour type tape) is fine? Or should I go out and buy some other tape?

Yes, I just use the normal scotch tape (not the white clear stuff) - but that is personal choice. Some tape is stickier than others, so go lightly at first and only go over the same area once.

Good luck!

Is it safe to use this method while on Retin-A Micro? Will the skin be too sensitive?

I'm not sure. Perhaps you could test a small patch of your skin. I know Retina A can create a lot of peeling, so if you do decide to try this, go very slow and only go over that area lightly. It should help aesthetically with the flakiness.

hi Maya, it's so encouraging to read your posts.

i'm indian and i suffer from hyperpigmentation. i'm currently on differin (feels really gentle) and minocyn, so i was wondering if it was okay for me to try this scotch tape method ?

thanks.

My response will be the same as my last one - differin is pretty much the same as retina A, so try a small patch of skin first and see how it works for you. Good luck!

Oooh, I made a big mistake of using the tape after [b]Queen Helene Mint Julep mask -- and it aggravated my face. Don't do that.

It caused a sore [b]red area like the beginning of an acne inflammation. Argh!! I guess I better be more careful next time.

Eyeciss and goldenpp72 - great results!! :D

dodgy Skin - I thin this will help, but may take longer for noticable improvements.

Hello dodgy skin, could you explain what hyperpigmentation is and what it looks like?

hey darren,

i'm indian, so my hyperpigmentation is basiccally a severe darkening of the skin. it feels smooth and to the touch is perfect skin, but it's appearence is that off a darker patch of skin compared to your normal pigment. seriously off-putting.

hope that helped, although i'm sure there are better explanations of this on the net.

later.
