I do the vinegar method twice a day (morning & night), and if I'm going to be doing the tape method on a day, I'd do it at night only.
Wash your face well (Shower preferable...your face needs to be CLEAN for the tape method), make sure your face is dry, tape method, wait a few minutes (up to you), apply vinegar, apply whatever other topicals you have.

| this fade out cream works for red marks? is it okay to do the tape method while i'm taking topical antibiotics such as tazorac, clindagel, and duac? |
Absolutely not safe to do the tape method while on Tazorac. I am not sure about the other ones, but I probably wouldn't risk it.

I am not completely clear, but now I know that this method does help...one thing tho, some were saying that it makes them not break out anymore on the area they are taping, and it's true! I haven't got one pimple there, and believe me when I say this, I have very VERY sensitive skin.
Ok so yea give it a shot if you've got bad red spots.

my skin is totaly clear thanx to this taping thing, ayyyyy!!!
except for some old acne scars but..........they'll clear up
and ive only been using it for 3 weeks.
here is a warning for everyone doing the taping method:
like 3 days ago i had a long night, i only had about 2 hours sleep, when i got up the next morning i did the whole regimen and taping very half assed (half asleep).
when i was doing my cheek a bit of tape got cought on the side of my lip. i had very dry lips from the night before. when i stripped the tape it not only took a layer of dry skin from my cheek but also a couple from my lip, and it left the corner of my lip in 2 pieces
since then i havent been to school and havent been able to really talk........but its still worth it lol
this is a question totally not related to acne:
can u get scars on your lip?
ive thought about it and ive never seen someone with a scar on their lip.
thanx for posting this method up maya!!!!

By some strange coincidence, someone with a wart had left some duct tape covering it over and found that it really helped.
The research group did an experiment to see if it was actually a genuine result by asking people with the virus to cover over the patch with duct tape and to only take it off when they had to wash.
They seem to believe it's actually significantly more effective than liquid nitrogen freezing.
Apparently, it's something about a component of the adhesive on the back of the tape that promotes an autoimmune response in the area where the tape is and causes the body to send more white cells to there to fight infection.
They didn't do any tests into acne, but theoretically it should work exactly the same if it's a general immune response. It's not the adhesive killing the germs, but your own immune system. The adhesive just triggers your immune system and makes it think it's being attacked in that area, like when you cut yourself.
To produce a similar result I think you'd probably need to go to bed with the tape all over your face looking like a real idiot.
It may also be very brand dependant, or not. I would suggest trying Duck duct tape if you can buy it locally because they may have mentioned Duck tape and not duct tape. One is a brand, the other is the tape's name. I always get the two mixed up. But Duck tape is duct tape. So Duck tape is the safest bet.
Obvious drawbacks to this blisteringly hot plan are that you can't walk around during the day covered in duct tape. But it might be worth giving it a go at night.
It'd be really cool is someone could find a patch where they always have problems and then only lay the tape across the same half of that patch each night for a week or two.
If it's having an effect, there should be some sort of blurred line of better / normal skin where the tape meets the untaped part.
When I first read about the idea I figured it wasn't very interesting because it was mentioned specifically with the wart virus. But it may also work with other immune responses.
The only way it wouldn't work would be if it's a highly specific immune response to the adhesive.
I think the component in the adhesive may be called Betamannan, which is an autoimmune system stimulator.
