I started it today.
I'm really scared I'll gain weight on it.

Is it bad to not get a period? I know a few people who have started using bc to get theirs back...is there a reason we need it?
If it's just random bleeding I'll go straight ontot he next pack when I get to that stage.

Is it still going well for everyone else?

QUOTE(Hi i @ Dec 16 2006, 12:17 AM)
I used Yasmin for a month, but that was my first birth control... it seems to make my skin less oily in that month, but it gave me horrible headaches so I had to stop sad.gif Best of luck to you though, i've actually heard a lot of good things about Yasmin.. my friend is on it, and she said she used to have bad acne (which I would have NEVER thought so).. and right now her skin is absolutely FLAWLESS.

You know what helps with migraines Hi Im Mandy, rhinocort nasal spray.

Betty, yes, it is important for you to have your period for various number of reasons. Actually, I havent had my period since October and I've always been regular since the age of 12. It turns out that I have a hormal imbalance...yaay for me ;(
Second, HI COOKIEKISS wink.gif How dare you change your sn!!???!??! I'm back in the states and I'm starting Yasmin tomorrow! I'm so friggin scared but I'm still going to do it! I've read that you've been doing pretty good on the pill. I hope that I wont have any side effects while I'm on it....especially no initial breakouts. I asked my doctor and she said that it's not common for ppl to get IBO. I hope she wasn't lying wink.gif
Keep posting about your success and good luck to all of us kicking acne's ass with Yasmin (hopefully)

I am so happy (and jealous eusa_naughty.gif ) that you are clear. I am taking my first Yasmin pill in 8 and a half hours. I can't wait. My skin is looking horrible. I am really depressed. This morning when I looked at myself in the mirror, I wished I would die sad.gif. I've never been more ready than right now to take Yasmin. All the fear that I had is gone because I just can't deal with this. My skin is clear one week, next week its a disaster, clear again and so on. My derm. said it's all due to my hormonal imbalance which also contributed to beautiful hair growth on my chin (nothing major...couple hairs here and there). I AM SO READY!!!!! eusa_dance.gif

Lucia, was your skin oily before u started taking Yasmin and if yes, have you seen an oil reduction since u've been taking it?

Hi ladies,

I just got my prescription for Yasmin today...I can't wait to start taking it to see if it will work with my stupid chin and jawline acne. I've been on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for several years and so I'm really hoping this will work. I'll keep you posted!

Yasmin is the least likely pill to cause weight gain, Mandy, due to its diuretic properties in the progestin. Every person is different, but that's what the general consensus on weight gain with Yasmin is. Some people even lose weight, I'm going to try Yaz after giving Microgestin a couple more months.

I've taken 5 pills so far and I'm having some spotting, breast tenderness and the worst cramps in history. Is this even normal to happen after just 5 intakes? Has onyone else had anything close to these symptoms? My right breast hurts to the point where I can't even lift my arm up eusa_boohoo.gif

(I posted my message somewhere else before. I didn't know that you were all here.)

Hey girls! I 've just finished the first pack (21 pills) and NO weight gain at all. The first week it was really "suicidal"! (joking!) but really I was depressed! But it stoped at the end of the first week.

I used to have big pimples on my chin and above my lips (under my nose, don't know how to call that part). Yasmin cleared my chin in 21 days but now I have 4 additional big pimples on my right cheek. (The left one is flawless) It hurts a little bit. I try not to think of it although I am worried........but I really hope that it is normal for some people to have an intitual break out.......

I will tell you how it goes when I finish the second pack.

well all i can say is that i took yasmin for 7 months in the past with no positive effect on my skin.... however little negative.

im on dianette at the moment and its killing me, im getting the most awful cystic breakouts for 3 weeks when i take the pill, that calms when i have my period and stop the pill for 7 days.. i get awful headaches and am gaining weight, and have tender breasts.
my face really is the worst its every been and the pain means my quality of life is really suffering..

i should be goin on a low dose of roaccutane next month so what im going to do is ask my derm can i switch to yasmin again for contraception because the side effects are remarkebly less i feel...

so what i will say is wether it works for you or not, it shouldnt harm you too much as in side effects and possibly even with breakouts, so, i would say give it a go, it may actually work for you. we're all different..

good luck x

I, personally, dont think my acne is hormonal because I get breakouts all over the place. I mostly have comodones on my cheeks and forehead. They get inflamed and BAM...huge zit. However, my derm. in Germany said that this IS hormone related because I do have a hormone imbalance, my skin is oily due to it and my skin flactuates from clear to horrible breakouts. Right now,I dont even know what to call it...I have TWO large boils on my left cheek. It looks like hives...disgusting. I dont know if it's from the Yasmin or what but I've never had it before. I hate my life right now!!!!!!!

I've only taken two Yasmin pills so far and now I'm getting nervous reading all of these negative posts about it. I want it to work so bad! I'm sorry some of you are having these problems with it. Hopefully it will end up working for all of us!
