Day 16 & 17

Face is drying up, bumbs on the side of my chin are flattened out pretty nice. So far so good.

Day 18 & 19
Well I got 2 new bumps, space apart on the right side of my cheek and they itch sometimes, damn it sucks, Hope everyone has a good new years, I wont be updating until monday.

Day 20 & 21

So I hope everyone had a good new years, mine sucked but I dont wanna get into it. The blackheads on my nose seem more noticeable, maybe they are pushing out?, I hope so.

Day 22

Wow my lips are dryy especially the outside of my lower lip, I woke up today and my mom looked at me and said WTf happened to your lip? I guess they are peeling alittle too, and when I peel it underneath is really red(new skin). So im using carmex alittle bit, but it seems to come off easily.. ie if I drink some water or something. It doesnt really seem to absorb or something idk.

Also my face is flaky!! Especially on my chin and the corners of my nose, I can see alot of blackheads pushing out to the surface, none really come out though. My face is looking decent otherwise, I had like 2 bumps (not too huge either) on the side of my face that are going down, and red marks scattered on my face. Im definitely noticing improvement, even if it is little.

Anyone know anything that will take the flakes off my face? I use aveeno cream and it only does so much, any advice would be great.

Flaky face, its not dry were my face feels tight or anything. Dry peeling lips, usng carmex for that atm.

Day 23,24, & 25

So I got 2 little spots on my chin and 1 on my forehead, its not bad so im not complaining about it. I had sebum plugs surfacing on my nose, and alot are coming out its really weird, hope they all come out and go away for good.

it sounds like you are doing really well! It must feel great to see your skin clear up! You are just a few days ahead of my son (he's on day 19 at 40 mg). Do you wish you would have tried it earlier? I was just curious because our derm said we could struggle along with topicals for the next four or five years, or give accutane a try now before any real scarring has occured. My son has red/purplish spots from previous acne but she said she did not think there was any permanent scarring. We obviously opted to give accutane a go after also looking into laser treatment (painful and my son didn't want to go through it).

Day 26

I got 2 pimples on my chin, under my lip and 1 of them is those little ones that hurt really bad, and I still have the 2 bumps on the right side of my face and 1 on my cheek. My acne is definitely alot milder than in the past, which is great but im starting to think that alot of damage has been done as far as scarring is concerned. Its not really BAD, it just gets to me when I look in the mirror, im the type who studies thier face in the mirror, but any ways maybe im overreacting alittle bit. I figure im 20 years old, and I dont see it going away on its own anytime soon, Im just glad im on this stuff HOPEFULLY im taking acouple years of acne off of my face, no actually I hope its gone forever is what im trying to say.

day 27,28,29, & 30

Well not much of a difference, my lips are pretty dry, and get dry like 10 min after I put on some carmex. My overall complexion sucks, seems different, like in the first week, my redmarks seem more dark red its just messed up. The 2 bumps on the right side of my face are still there! no head nothing, they only went down slightly. I have 2 white heads upper chin, the white heads seemed to fall off or something, and I forced some black heads/sebum plugs out of my nose, revealing open pores, big id say which im not happy about, so its gonna be a change when they arent clogged anymore and are big, shit I might even miss them being clogged lol j/k

Toda I had to miss my doctors appointment, today being day 30. It sucks because He is packed, and I couldnt get in til monday!!! But I am not worrying because I know this little break will not affect my treatment. I keep getting comments on how I dont smile or seem happy anymore, and its really pissin me off because I dont think im depressed, I mean I do some stuff that is depressing, Like staying up late, sleeping late, feeling down. I dont know maybe I will try and get back on anti depressants, maybe I have a chemical imbalance.

hi tim! thanks for your post, just here to support u! =o) its only been day 2 and my nose was peeling a little! i use aquaphor at night to moisturize...it really helps w/dryness. okay , well i'll check up on ya later! take care

This sucks so bad, after your 30th day you just wanna keep goin, but im stuck until monday, so thats like 6 days off of it, I cant wait til monday damnit lol, so im feelin alittle bit better as far as the depression is concerned thats good.

Month 2, Day 31

So after a week of being off Accutane it must have still been in my system strong because my lips are still dryer and chapped than ever. Finally yesterday I went to my doctors appointment and got my prescription, today it was filled and I took pill number 31. I got acouple pimples on my chin, I had a pustule? on the right side of my face that I popped(I know bad) but overall my skin is looking decent, acouple people say its improving already.

I asked my doctor if 20 mg was good for my weight, I weigh about 96 kg, he said yes. Of course in the back of my mind I do question that, but he said if he raises it I will have more side effects. So I will be at 20 mg for 6 months. I guess I dont really care about the cumulative dose, as I will be NO WHERE near that in 6 months, but I dont care and will not stress it as it isnt going to happen.

Side effects

Dry and chapped lips, my lips are pretty bad, I hate the heavy feeling of having carmex on them all the time, and they are peeling and everything.

Month 2, Days 32-37

Well I had acouple spots break out, 1 on my cheek, acouple on the chin nothing major. Seems to be drying out which is a good thing in a way. Everything seems to be goin pretty good, hope to see more improvement soon.

Dry lips got better, minor dry face, nothin bad.

Month 2, Days 37-42

Well basically I had a big ass bump(Cyst?) on my right cheek im not sure if it was a cyst, because I have never had cystic acne so i dont know. It definitely went down alot and dried alittle, I got some scattered white heads but no biggie, side effects seem less noticeable which is always good.

Side Effects

Lips seem alittle better but who knows it can change in a day. Face is minor flaky.

Month 2, days 43-53

Well everything seems to be goin great, I feel alittle depressed but I just think about the good results to come and get over it. My face is overall clear with like 2 zits on my chin. red marks are really fading alot. My face is dry sometimes but nothing moisturizer cant help.

Month 2, days 54-60

Wow I cant believe tomorrow I will be starting month 3, time is going quick I am half way though treatment! Acouple of days ago my face was pretty clear and then out of no where I get like 3 bumps on the side of my chin, like by my mustache and a red spit on my cheek where there was like a cyst(i think it was a cyst). So im not too happy about that but things will get better as I move more into my treatment. I told my doctor about my depression and at first he said that I cant take anti depressants and accutane and the same time, and then out of no where he prescribes me paxil, so that kind of confused me on what he was thinking. So hopefully I can lift my self out of this depression, its good that im still on tane though.
