5 weeks into 20mg/day, my back starts itching moderately, and this happens to my hands:

Are these normal side-effects? If anyone else had this happen to their hands, how did you treat it?

Thx

Seems to have happened to alot of us. I was advised by my derm to use plain old fashioned vaseline with cotton gloves over night if it gets too bad. A good lotion with 2x's daily application should help.

Maybe some neosporin? Or like everyone else has said lather on some vaseline or even crisco..yeah I know it sounds nasty but it really does help. After that put on gloves or socks and wear them to bed. I used to have horribly dry bleeding cracked hands and fingers because I have to wash my hands so much at work. I tried the glove thing because my mom has done it for years except she does it on her feet and it worked wonders for me.

yea that happened to me too. the only thing is that everytime i go into my derms to talk about it during my monthly check up, its cleared up and i forget about it completely!

but vaseline and cotton gloves? hmm i should try that.

recently, the condition ffinally went away without leaving marks, and my wool gloves made them come back! arg.

hope these posts help!

I started getting this about a week ago. I use my cetaphil lotion on it during the (i like the cetaphil because it doesn't have any perfume or color added ~ that makes it STING!) I apply lotion in the morning and everytime I wash my hands. It has helpd SOOO much. It has been really dry here the last few days so at night I cover my hands in aquaphor and put on the gloves.... This works really, really well!
