Are there any laser treatments that just shrink down your pores, or make your face complexion smoother/better? (I am not talking about scars or discoloration)

Red/blue (non laser) light treatment does this. It's not fast (takes a few months to clear the blocked-pores/comedones out), but it improves complexion within a few days.

The red light improves complexion I think mostly. You can buy reasonably inexpensive 660nm Red led lamps for home use.

Okay. I also read about the laser genesis and how that shrinks pores. Has anyone tried it?

sorry to differ but i didn't have any results worth mentioning from my ipl sessions and i had over 12 sessions with a skin specialist. wouldn't recommend it for extremely clogged pores or skin that has been over active for many years.

I also do not recommend IPL for shrinking large pores. It didn't work for my large pores, and it caused a new problem of increased redness and sensitivity.

ipl gave acne to my normal skin. i had to go on accutane to get rid of it. disaster. stay away. laser genesis from dr seckel is bullshit from his website. he has catchphrases to get you there when you google pores. duh. only thing is accutane or maybe fraxel.

As Wolfy wrote, you might look into something like an Acnelamp or Beautyskin lamp. I have used both, and found that after some weeks of use, they do cause my pores to shrink. The Acnelamp in fact caused a very noticeable decrease in skin oil.

You need a lamp with red light to get this effect - I don't think the blue light alone will do it.

I think it's the blue light that clears blackheads and whiteheads.

The red light improves complexion and ups the repair rate and improves wrinkles (temporarily for a few days) and is anti-inflammatory.

I have huge pores, blackheads, and like a half dozen whitehead bump things and small zits. My skin is very oily, but it also flakes, and I'm not using anything for it, just Cetaphil lotion. What light or laser should I use? Links would be nice.

Which is the best LED to get? I dont think i want to use a pen one, it seems to be a lot of work and it doesnt improve the whole face. Do I need multiple units for full face coverage?
