However, I have been using the Head and Shoulders-Volumizing Shampoo, althought not for the purpse of clearing body acne, just because my Mom bought it. I only use it on my hair. However, I'm sure it gets all over my body when I'm showering it out.
Well lately I've noticed my skin is dry and itchy. It's VERY itchy, especially on my back (the worst), arms, and on my chest. After I itch it for awhile I get the little red bumps, not like pimples, just bumps from irritation. Could the Head and Shoulders shampoo be the reason for this? I had none of these symptoms before. I haven't changed anything with my diet, washing products, or medicines.
Has anyone ever gotten VERY ITCHY from using Head and Shoulders as Shampoo or as an acne remedy?
Please help me figure this out!!!

You're not 'supposed' to use any, because it's a hair shampoo. The reason it works (for some people) is because it has an active zinc ingredient. All varities of the shampoo has this, so which one you use isn't really that important. However, if you're going to try it, you should go with the 'sensitive', if you can find it, or the 'classic' because they're least perfumed of the range.
In my experience, whatever benefits you get from the pyrithione zinc is counterbalanced by the fact that you're putting a heavy duty detergent and gods knows what other chemicals onto your skin. It had a short term positive affect on my back for about two weeks before making it worse than ever, but it made my face dry as the sahara and turned it bright red.

This is most definitely not for the face. The only reason it works on the back is because the skin is thicker and more tolerant than the skin on the face. For that, a gentler product is ideal.

When did you guys start seeing results? And I always gently use a loofa to apply then leave the shower, and let the bubbles absorb, because I don't want to waste time. But my acne seems for painful and inflamed after using the loofa.
Ik its exfoliating, but any other method? It's all upper back but slowly creepy to middle so hard to reach with this hands!
Hopefully it helps haha!

So, I have been using this now, by itself (no other products, besides daily vitamins B, B3, B12, C, D, Calcium&Magnesium tablets, and 3 times a week I take Himalayan Bee Propolis, just for general circulatory/immune system support), and it seems after 1 week it is working FANTASTIC, I still have about 60% of the original "amount" of pimples, but they are much much smaller, and seem to be fading quickly.
I use the conditioner once every 48 hours, in the shower as a body wash (only on my back/chest though. I use old spice body wash for the rest of my body as it makes my skin nice and soft, but doesn't help acne at all), and rinse "most" of it off, but try to leave a very diluted amount on the "bad spots".
The gist of it all, it seems to be working significantly better than anything else I've ever tried, and I believe I am going to be 100% cleared up within a couple months, unless some un-anticipated reaction occurs to cause it to stop being so effective.
I am planning on continuing my hunt for the unscented classic type of conditioner, but for now this seems to be working as good, if not better than I had hoped for .
Basically, my biggest point in this, is that I personally believe using a conditioner would be a much better idea than shampoo, especially if you are prone to dry skin (I have oily skin, but it dries out very easily). The conditioner seems to be drying my skin the "right" amount, as the pimples are drying and flaking off, but the rest of my skin isn't itchy or flaky at all
Best regards to all my fellow Acne Sufferers. It is a terrible, terrible thing to have any kind of acne, especially body acne as there is a very strong stigma behind it as most people aren't aware it exists because people hide it so well. Just don't let it destroy your life! It's not the end of the world, there is much worse conditions/circumstances in this world to worry about than acne.
Keep fighting the good fight! NO MATTER WHAT!

I tried the head and shoulders. It has cleared my back up a ton! My back hasn't been this clear in years. My chest is clearing up too.
Anyways, just wanted to say thanks for sharing some tips.

because of the zinc that the shampoo contains
