Hello all,
Lately I've been reading a lot in this forum, and have been following many of your accutane-logs instantly.
I'm quite new to this site, and this is my first post.
First off, I'm a a twenty year old norwegian boy who has suffered from acne in some years now, since I was 14 i guess. It has never been really bad, I would say its just mild to moderate.
I've tried a lot of products, from different types of local medications(?) to antibiotics. I'm not sure if the product names ar the same where you guys are located, but I think its pretty much the same.
In example, Dalacin, Differin, Brevoxyl and Tetracyklin. (These names are what they're called in Norwegian).

So, I finally came to the decision to put an end to this, and my dermatologist had no problem perscribing me the accutane.
I read you guys use "Aquaphor" and I don't know if I could get this here, but I have bought something called Blistex Lip Conditioner and also some moisturizing lotion.

My acne is pretty much just in my face, in my cheeks mostly and around the mouth. I've never had anything in my forehead(thank god), but it is awful enough as it is. (I don't have a camera yet, so no pics).

I am in a pretty good psysichal shape, and I have read alot about the really bad sideeffects to this, but I just focus on getting through the cure and get a clear skin. I can add that my face isn't oily at all.

My dosage is 40mg per day, and I take it with my dinner. In addition, I also take both C and E vitamin, and some Omega-3 fish-oil. My bodyweight is approximately 81kg. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to get higher dosage after this first month, I just hope that my blood test works out well and I can finish this as quickly as possible.

Well, today it is day 11 and I can say that I haven't really noticed any difference. My skin is not dry at all, nor is my lips. The only thing I'm experiencing is some chestpains, and I've been getting this for some days now. Anyone who has experienced the same?
I will try to post weekly updates here.

Feel free to comment and give me tips, I know a lot of you is already along the road.
(I hope my english is understandable and the post not to long).

Now, back to my studies.

Anyway; best of luck to you, hope it all works out. Be sure to visit my log as well...

Ok, I totally forgot i had this log smile.gif
Well, today I have been on accutane in about 4 months and a week.
Skin is doing ok i guess, still getting pimples which I think is pretty odd. I also have a lot of red marks and some icepick scarring that i hope will fade away somewhere in the future.
The course to this point has been rough, a lot of ups and downs and breaking out. In my third month i was doing good some weeks and then BAM i broke out again for the last two weeks. Side effecs aren't a problem for me, I have a bit dry lips and skin, but it isnt bothering me at all.
What IS bothering me, is that I have persisant REDNESS in my skin and cheeks.
Im beginning to wonder if its Rosacea, but my derm wont say anything until im done with my course(Which is about in about 1 month).
My redness goes in a line under my eyes and over my nose between my eyes. It seems to be there whatever I do, and its really annoying actually.
It looks like i've been wearing sunglasses, because the skin just under my eyes are white and then it goes over to totally red.

I've read around here in the forum, and I see that other people are experiencing the same sideeffect, Dano is one of them(?).

Ok, tips would be appreciated.

P.S Haven't wrote english in ages, so excuse the language smile.gif
