Hi danman,
I had ALA (Levulan) + Blu-U done 2 hours ago. First the clinician cleaned by face with acetone, and then she applied the Levulan, which is a photosensitizing agent. Since today is my first time trying this, I had a levulan "incubating time" of 30 minutes, followed by 10 min. of Blu-U. I was anxious about feeling a lot of pain, but had v. little discomfort - just minor stinging.
The clinician then had me wash off the levulan with Cetaphil cleanser. I came home and applied jojoba oil because my skin was feeling tight and dry. I also applied an ice pack for about half an hour because my face was feeling warm (This was suggested in the care guide I was given). So far, nothing dramatic. I guess time will tell.
