Sometimes popping a pimple is just unavoidable. What should you do to the resulting hole to make it scab up?

If you use a sterilized needle to pop the pimple wouldn't it not create a scar?

HI! What I usually do is put a ton of Neosporin on the damaged area. It has never failed me - within 2-3 days, it looks a TON better. I usually just put a big ol' blob of it on at night and, by morning, it's looking 100% better. Hope that helps!

Neosporin is an anti-bacterial sort of gel. It's used for cuts, scrapes, small wounds, etc. to prevent infection; however, I find that it significantly reduces scarring and actually keeps scabbing to a minimum. Like I said, within 2-3 days, all signs of popping are GONE.

Yes, I read in a magazine that said a study shows that putting neosporin on a pimple makes it heal faster and prevents scarring. If you think about it, it makes sense...I think scarring is due to infection or your skin not healing correctly. So, by putting an anti-bacterial ointment on it, it would kill the germs and help your skin heal faster. I do the same thing after I pop pimples and have had great results as well. It helps it close up and scab faster.

what i do is if its only a smaller one with a lil head i simply SCRATCH the head off with my nail.
sorta press hard to dig the nail in an then remove the head
thisway it bleeds
an i find if it bleeds you know its going to not come back
then i let the blood come out (i dab with a tissue to remove the clear liquid that also comes out but i leave the blood there)
then after about 1hour u gently remove the blood that has formed over the now dead spot
an that way the spot is now sealed as the blood will have all clogged up the pore so it cant get re-infected.
an then u jus gotta wait for it to heal
usually takes a day or two depending on the size of spot

No.
Use a little Neosporin & then leave it alone. Resist picking & popping as much as you can. In my experience, no matter how you do it or how "sterile" you try to be, it CAN scar, it CAN spread more pimples, it CAN get re-infected & get much larger right away or it CAN come back larger later.
By scarring I dont mean pitting; I have no pitting, but I do have a lot of very dark red spots (sure those fade, but it can take YEARS).

Yes Neosporin is a fab idea. I just did that last night as a matter of fact. Polysporin, actually. Had a little scab from a zit. Put a big gob of Poly on there, and covered it with one of those tiny round band-aids so it wouldn't rub off while I slept. Woke up this morning and the thing was almost completely gone.
Take or leave the band-aid advice. The adhesive in the band-aid might cause more breakouts if you're real sensitive. I'm not.

That's it, I'm getting Neosporin.
