Good news is, the severity of my acne has lowered very much after each course ive taken.
You can check my Accutane course 2 pics in my gallery ... anyways, ill start
Day 1
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/spo...tz/preweek1.jpg
As you can see, it's mild at best, compared to what my face looked like during the start of my 'second course'

.. which is a good thing, since atleast there has been improvement over all, and it's not just some temporary fix.

Just wondering, after each course how long did your face stay clear?
Also, what were your previous doses?
Good luck again.

Hey man, good luck on your course!
Just wondering, after each course how long did your face stay clear?
Also, what were your previous doses?
Good luck again.
1st course was 10mg
2nd course was 20mg
3rd course is 40
My face was clear on both courses from about month 3 during my course, and about 6-8 months after. My last accutane course finished on November, so I unno, do the math.
Anywho....today is Day 7 ... and the effects are definately kicking in already. My lips getting pretty dry now. My face is still a bit oily, and i've had a few minor breakouts since....but nothing horrendous. No bleeding noses as of now either. A few minor aches when im exercising.
thats extremely mild.why would u go on accutane for that.my face looks like the second pic, and i was put on minocycline, which is giving me the dizzies.
Why? Because anti-biotics do more harm to the body than Accutane, and because i've already taken minocycline 2 times, and both times, it showed no effect. Tetracycline did a better job, however, it got me sick each time I took it, so I had to stop. For people like me, Accutane is the only solution. It's unfortunate, but it's the price we pay for clear skin.

Things are getting drier. I'm still getting pimples, but none surpringly in the cheek areas. I've been getting a few in those really annoying spots though, like in my ear, on the lips, on the nose, right in the middle of my forehead. Ahh, so annoying. My skin is slowly starting to get crackly. The oil is reducing .. i'm no longer a glowlight, but it's still there. I figure at this point, things should start shaping up around week 4.

Check out the zits on my lip!! I had to pop them, because they were huge, and ruined my entire day. I didn't step outside once.

You have been on very low dose..if you will taking 40-60mg before i think that you will not be now on 3rd course.
And how old have you been on 1st 2nd and 3rd course?
Bye
I know...I feel thats why my acne is still there.
15-16 - 1st
17 - 2nd
18 - 3rd
My derm has been putting me on incredibly low doses throughout my accutane history. Thankfully, im on 40mg now, and will be bumping up to 80mg during the last 3 months.

Still dry ... the breakouts are starting to come to a halt it seems like. Broke out all weekend, but the last 2 days, haven't had any ... I think this is the point where things start to clear up. Let's hope so.

Just thought i'd drop in to wish you the best of luck. How's the body feeling given that it's your third course?
Fine. Same symptons basically. Mild aches, few bleeding noses here and there .. and of course, dryness. Everything else is still in tact. Body is doing fine, and I FEEL good, which is what matters most ... to me atleast.

Plenty of progress in just a mere 3 weeks. Skin is smoothing out big time. No signs of any incoming pimples ... initial breakout is finally over. Should be a smooth road from here.

Dryness is kicking my ass. What especially sucks is when im at work, it's hard to find time to get water ... becuase im constantly dehydrated, and using chapstick just doesn't much justice at this point. Vaseline is the only thing that really works, but then my lips look really glossy, and I can't walk around work like that....so yea, kinda bummed out. On the good side of things .. I've yet to breakout within the last 2 weeks ... red marks are fading nicely .. bumps are slowly decreasing ... and the 2 main bumps on my left/right cheek are finally going down. Skin is dry, oil is gone at this point ... none, nada. Slowly gaining more confidence.

Skin clearing up nicely. Haven't broken out for about 2 weeks now. Still get the ocassional zit, but they haven't been bothersome. Skin still dry, but nothing I can't deal with ... bleeding noses have been a rare occurence as well .. during my first 2 courses .. they were a constant neusance (sp) ... now, they are only happening maybe once a week at most. Pretty good. I'll post an update pic a bit later today.
That is all! Out.

Sounds good man, Im thinking about taking a low dose course, but I work outside so I don't know if my face could make it in the cold.

Ok, I know I lied last time about posting the pics. Fear not, I actually DO have them this time LOL. My batteries have been dead, so I haven't had a chance to update. Anywho, as far as progress goes, I think my face is getting better now. Just a few days ago, I went through another horrible breakout, but now things are shaping up nicely. The bad thing about this drug is it can really mess with your emotions, partly becuase on week your clear, and hte next, your skin is horrible and even more oily than before. A bit depressing. Skin is still dry ... however, my skin has been getting oily against the last few days, specifically the forehead region. All in all, pimples are clearing up nicely, and this morning when I shaved, almost all the active pimples I had were scabs, and fell right off. Definately a good feeling. Worst side effect is being dry ... EVERYWHERE. I hate it.
Notice the oily forehead. Damn flashes make me look really white, and my skin alot better than what it really is.
