hm so how much do you take a day? That's not enough. And 612mg split in 4 pills is... not ideal lol, for us acne paients at least. Your EPA+DHA amount should total to around 2-15g/day range so if you only take 4 pills, you get only 1.030g a day. Gradually increase your intake and see if your acne clears. It WILL NOT DRY UP. It will stay moist and oily so if you want to get rid of oily skin try "guggul extract" or beta-sitosterol.

i have taken 4 pills/day until now, but now it's been a month since i started the paleo diet and the supplements use, so according to the acne book i should be taking less zinc and less omega 3 pills (about 1 gr/day fish oil and 25/day zinc)...
i'm so confused

Can't you two take this fish oil thing somewhere else? It's kind of messing up Dan's blog. Eat fresh fucking fish for God's sake, and have done with it!

When I was on this diet I felt very happy, my mind was thinking strait and my skin was never better in my life. This diet works! Stick to what nature intended. My pores unclogged and I never got a zit once.
My diet consisted of fruit, berries, nuts, organic grass fed beef(balanced omega 3-6) , salmon and veggies. No fruit juice because it raises your GI very fast. Causes zits, as mentioned above. Bananas are out because they are altared by bacteria and contain lots of surcose(sugar raise gi fast), unless you like green bananas then go ahead. No penuts they are not nuts but in raw state are toxic, same with potatoes. Basically I ate anything that was below 10 for its glycemic load. Anything above that was not allowed. But my skin was perfect!
But basically im off the diet now because i cant afford it! 10 grass fed beef patties cost 11dollars compared to 4 for regular. But I think you can just supplement organic with fish oil pills to counter act the omega 3 imbalance to get the ideal 1-1 ratio of O-3,O-6. I think 1000mg is 1gram of omega 3 fat. Im not sure how much omega 6 fat a steak has in it, but you would need probably tons of theese pills. Or just eat salmon every day wich is loaded in omega 3.
Now im goin on this diet again because i get zits on my back when i eat pizza and bread. Bread is a huge zit enhancing food. Dont eat it on this diet. No buns, bread, pasta , pastries , choclate ect. You will notice that all those foods have a high glycemic load. Not good.
Anyways thought id share my experience. My girlfriend and i are starting this diet tomorrow! Good luck everyone.

lunch: big piece of salmon and a big salad with no dressing
dinner #1: slow cooked pork tenderloin and spaghetti squash with steamed kale
dinner #2: grass-fed beef patty with lots of veggies
snacks: 3 pieces of fruit throughout the day which has caused some (cough) issues today. Gonna cut down.
supps: I'm taking 4-6 fish oil pills a day from now on, 50mg of zinc gluconate/picolinate, and vitamin D if I don't get sun.
(My skin is completely clear because I'm on the regimen. So I won't post pics since there will be no change. I am not going off the regimen for another couple of weeks when the diet will hopefully kick in.)
Of course you broke out -.-. Meat is ultra-acidic, and your diet isn't exactly paleo. It's a meat diet. Meat didn't grow on the threes. Plants did. That's why you need to eat tons of green vegetables (spinach, broccoli, ...) and meat from time to time in bigger quantities, but not every day for every meal...
And if you keep taking supps, how can you even be sure the diet doesn't work? You changed so many things to the paleo diet that it isn't really paleo anymore.
If you would eat 200g meat and eat tons of vegetables (like 1kg, everything would be fine, as your ph wouldn't be acidic). But eating tons of meat and moderate amounts of vegetables will get you nowhere.
Did you ever try eating vegetables and fruit for three days without the regimen? I can seriously control my zits now that I know pH is the key. If I eat 100g meat, and don't drink lemon juice, I get zits. If I eat 100g meat and drink lots of lemon juice, I don't get zits.
Just try an alkaline diet for once, it might help you out.
I bought the regimen, but didn't touch it. Glad I didn't. I cured my acne and didn't damage my body.
Oh, and what's all that Omega-3 hype? Everyone seems to think adding fish oils to a diet makes it a hundred times better. It's just some fat man, it won't do a thing to your acne. Less sugar and more alkaline food will cure it though.

When doing paleo, you first have to eliminate all carbs except vegetables. I know this is difficult, but it's necessary, as protein takes a long time to digest, and it is a very bad idea to mix fruit with meat in your stomach, especially sweet fruit. This is important for digestion. If something isn't digested properly, it rots in the stomach and produces a lot of toxins that need to be removed, if there's too many of them they'll leave through the skin.
You could eat acidic fruit (grapefruits, berries) in the morning, but please don't eat bananas. You should have seen my face when I ate a banana 5 hours after a big piece of chicken. It was freaking red, and I got 2 big zits afterwards. Same thing happened when I ate grapes after chicken (so I don't eat chicken anymore as it's too acidic, it has too much protein in it, I'd rather eat fish or red lean meat).
What I noticed on the paleo was a change in taste. I first loved sweets and fats when I was young (I had the most acne back then), then, at the university, I loved fats (had less acne than ever), and then I loved sweets only (that's now, I have mild acne but lots of allergy problems and mood swings). Two days ago I wanted to try an avocado, but the taste was horrible. Today, I was thinking about that same taste and it seemed so gooood (this is my second paleo day btw, I did paleo before but overdid fruit back then).
Also, a cheat doesn't bring you back to square one, but it does cause a lot of problems. Don't underestimate the size of cheats, one piece of candy can do a whole lot of damage. Fatty meats are okay cheats, but I consider dried fruit or potatoes to be a cheat.
