Ive had a Beautyskin lamp for nearly 2 weeks, it did come with a plastic cover which i havent removed, it seems to be working ok for me and there wasnt any instructions with it about cleaning the bulbs.
There are plenty of websites to contact re this so I will email one.

Hi spinx, I called the company I bought the lamp from (Androv Medical) but I reached the answerphone each time despite calling midday on various weekdays. I also called the number on the Dr Kern website and left a message but they too haven't returned my call. In the meantime I'm just using it with this plastic cover. If you do hear anything I'd love to know.
Thank you for your reply.

Looking at the instructions it seems you would need to unscew the back as if you were replacing the bulbs...sounds like a bit of a faff, but at least you have been using it properly.
How is your skin doing. My first week was awful because I had come off antibiotics, then my skin was fantastic by the end of the second week, but i have a really bad cyst now in an area which is usually quite good, its coming up to the end of the third week...I was very positive to start off with, but i'm starting to wither...
Generally the quality of my skin is a lot better but its the first time ive had cysts in ages and they HURT.
I know i'm supposed to be patient but i'm losing confidence
Anyway I hope this helps
Spinx.

It sounds like we're in a pretty similar situation. I've been on antibiotics for 14 months and am desperate to come off (I think they're causing folliculitis) but I fear they are the only thing holding acne at bay.
I've been using the beauty skin lamp for 7 weeks now and I'm fairly disappointed thus far. There may have been SOME improvement but thus far I would describe it as marginal. I'm beginning to think the 'acne' I have may infact be pityrosporum folliculitis induced by chronic antibiotic use. I'm gonna keep going for say 10 weeks but if I'm not satisfied then I plan to quit the antibiotics and the red/blue light perhaps also and see if I can clear my skin another way.

Hi, I havent been on this site for a while and have just seen your reply,
I definately think the antibiotics cause different acne problems, although they kept my cystic acne at bay, I didnt realise until I looked at some photos recently that my skin generally has become red and bumpy inbetween the spots! Whereas before the antibiotics my skin was pale and clear inbetween the cystic acne.
Which is worse? I'm not sure.
I am starting to see a little improvement although it was hard to say at first because i'm developing different kind of acne because ive come off the antibiotics
Maybe you should come off the antibiotics while you use the lamp and see if that helps?
My facial flushing is definately getting better, I have just begun my first month of P.M.T when my skin is usually at its worst and I can honestly say it is better than usual. I really think you should try the lamp without the antibiotics before giving up completely.

works good for me
Looks like they raised the prices of their devices. Last time I looked the two combined costs $75.95 but it's free shipping (not sure if the prices in Feb includes free shipping).
Their website looks very amateurish but it is very informative, perhaps to make up for the cheap design of their website. I guess that's why they can sell their devices far lower than their competitors plus they don't advertise.
Any results from users?

I get rather bad acne on my back, and I'm having good luck with some dietary changes, but if I make a mistake I seem to get a bad breakout still
I'm going to try this and give it a whirl... snagged it from a seller in my country (Canada) on eBay for $140 CAD, which is pretty good, shipping included. This solution looked like it was one of the few that would work well for bacne because of the large area that needs to be covered.

I've only had it for a week and my skin is completely clear except for a few red marks that are still healing. I'm 25 and have been struggling with this since I was 13. My derm wanted to put me on accutane, but I was worried about the side effects so this was my last ditch effort, and if it didn't work I was going to go on accutane. I'd even started all the blood and pregnancy tests. Now I'm definitely not going on accutane, although I may buy another one of these bulbs. The only downside is that the bulb i small (maybe two inches in diameter) so I can't get at all my face at once, but at only $38 I may just order another one. Most of my acne was concentrated around my mouth and jaw anyway so I've just been focusing the light there.

That is excellent news! Thank you for sharing your experience!

1. Does it help heal and get rid of existing pimples? Or does it just work to prevent new acne?
2. Has anyone used the baby quasar or does anyone recommend it? I recently ordered both the red and blue and they should be at my house tomorrow (god knows I need them NOW
P.S. Congrats ellaanne! That is so amazing and you just made me very excited/anxious to get mine.

The combo works both ways, & works well.
My acne flared up at first, just like it would with any acne medication... But, I noticed the lesions healed and went away faster. It takes time too, like anything else.
Follow directions, & most important, stick with it.
I'm not saying everyone's skin is the same. Just posting from my own personal experience.
My best wishes go out to everyone.

Yes, I used a combination of salicylic acid & glycolic acid, found it worked great with the light therapy.

I really want to try this because I did the Blue-U treatments last year and it only worked temporarily =/.
My mom is open to this idea and so I think she would split the cost on this with me - which would be awesome.
do you have any suggestions? everybody seems to be using a different one.
