Not using the red and blue light together seems exceedingly important, especially since Verilux has both bulbs on at the same time.

I can't imagine that's entirely true, or the product would be useless, no? Maybe it's just the specific treatment that the derm does...?

Let me just say this, I went through 8 months of doing laser treatments and none of them worked! It was expensive and time consuming, every session was $500.00. At mid point of doing the Blue light and the Yag laser, I was in tears by my 6th month! They kept insisting that by the next treatment I'd be acne free, but they lied. I even told the Dr if there's no hope for me, please just let me know so I can try something else... Nah, she just said it take's time some people are just different! It did NOT do anything for me, I ended up spending $4,000.00 on my last treatment she suggested that I tried another treatment they offered where they put some kind of gel on my face and use another type of laser. I'd have to stay in door's with no light, not even TV... Then she said there's a chance of scaring and keloid scar's too, and I just said forget it Im so done with this whole thing.

Over all, it didn't work it's very expensive and I regret ever stepping into that office! "Celibre". It's up to you, if you want to try it... eusa_naughty.gif

Hey what's up guys, I started using sunlight instead of these lamps, but I have a 415nm Blue Enlux LED light as well as the R30 Red acne LED lamp. I purchased both through Sci/Art.

I've only used them a few hours each probably, they both work great.

Anyway, if you or anyone you know wants them, I'm selling them both for fifty dollars each. I'll give you the original box and everything. They work like brand new, they were just not getting used so I figured I'd see if anyone was interested.

If it makes someone more comfortable, I'll put them up on Ebay for a more offical transaction. I'm legit though, no worries.

I love my lumiport pen!

Let me start off by saying I have always had issues with acne. I am 33. Mainly cystic acne and sebum plugs, both which drive me crazy. I used to get one or 2 cysts a month but a few months ago I started getting one a day. At first I thought it was the Bare Minerals makeup I switched too, but figured out that wasn't it after I threw it all away and the cysts kept coming. I didnt understand why my BP product had stopped working. I figured out that most likely it was because I had gone off my birth control pill.

Since I am now pregnant I didnt want to keep putting a bunch of chemicals on my face. But I had to do something because I had up to 8 cysts at a time on my chin. So I was about to go off and spend probably $400 at a skin center but I decided to give this a try first.
The Lumiport site said they were out of stock so I went to Ebay and paid alot less. I used the purple setting on my current cysts and the blue setting for 10 minutes to prevent them. The instructions say to do it morning and night but after the first 2 weeks I just do it at night because I dont have time in the morning. I started seeing less cysts in 5 days - right now I have none - which I think is just amazing. AND I have less sebum plugs in my chin! I hate those things and have never been able to find a treatment for them. A dermatologist once told me ,"some people have them, some don't" - that was the extent of his advice. I don't know how well it helps speed up the healing process but as for prevention it definitely works for me.
I have been using acne free for years. When the cysts started popping up every day I tried Murad's acne line - no help. I added DDF sulfur clay mask - no help. A few various other things.
I have added the acne free back into my regime - but not every night.
I consider this the best risk I have ever taken for my skin care!

i have been using the beauty skin acne lamp for about 2 months now, and it has basically cleared all of my acne (which was pretty bad back in july). make sure u give it 6 weeks to work fully, but you will see improvement before hand, possibly after just a week or two.

highly recommended

I have a handheld red/blue light from ebay. i put retina directly on any blemish or blemishy area (aka breakout) and use the light for like 5 minutes blu a few minutes red, and i notice in the morning things are always greatly improved where things would last far longer w/ just the retina or nothing...so i think it does work and mine was like $60

What was the device called? smile.gif

For those of you curious about the Verilux, I've been using it for about a year now. Results are generally good. It has not cleared my acne (mild to moderate with some cystic) 100%, but it has resulted in a decrease (about 90%) of cystic acne, and helps heal the pustules more quickly than not using the lights. It also has worked on discoloration AND healing scars. BUT, I use it twice a day, for anywhere from 10 minutes to 1/2 hour, depending on my schedule. Usually a 1/2 at night. I notice better results after the 15 minute mart.

Note that like the other lights, the 12 week mark was significant. While I noticed some positive results after the first session, that 12 week mark was impressive. It does make a difference if I skip a session. My acne will usually flare up if I miss more than a day of using it.

I think I paid $100 for it, maybe a bit more, but I've cut down on everything else except for the light. I don't use topicals, and a lot of times, I won't use moisturizers. For cleansers I use cetaphil or St. Ives peach scrub.

So review: 90% decrease of cystic acne, 70% decrease in regular acne. I am not prone to blackheads, so I cannot make any claims about them.

I just received my 'Amjo's LOW Price', (only $270.00 plus $25.00 S&H) Kern's blue/red light from Beautyskin USA about a week ago. (If I paid too much, I don't wanna hear it, darn it.)

There was a tube of Aloe Lips, lip balm in the box. The separate flyer instructed me to use the lip balm on the acne spots after I washed my face and before I used the light. What? What?? eusa_think.gif

I haven't seen this discussed before ... so I skipped that step for the first 5 or so nights. But for grins tonight, I put it on ONE major spot on my forehead to do a little testing.

I double checked the web site and didn't see an avenue to reorder the lip balm should it turn out to be a miracle cream. But a little googling helped me find it for under $3.

INGREDIENTS

* Aloe Barbadensis Extract (Stabilized Aloe Vera Extract)

* Beeswax
* Candelilla (Euphorbia Cerifera) Wax
* Myristyl Myristate
* Carnauba (Copernica Cerifera)
* Ozokerite

hey guys i got a question

I'm about to buy the enLux Hybrid LED from Intelligent Acne Treatment but I notice that the Red light is 630 nm. Is this the right wavelength? I looked over at AcneLamp and their red light is at 660 nm.

Thank you on any input on which lamp i should buy

I just purchased the Pretika LightSonic Pulsating Light Skin Therapy Set(red light) that has 670 nm. Is that too high to be ineffective? I started it using it Friday and I've been breaking out with white heads. But I think my break outs are contributed to me not using any moisturizers after the red light treatment. I didn't use their cleansers just the light.

My dermatologist told me that these devices filter out the harmful UV light, so you should experience no long-term negative effects.

You have to own your own light and use it daily for it to be effective. Going to a spa or dermatologist every now and then will not do the trick. The key is killing off the bacteria on a daily basis. It works great for me.

have you looked at the ANSR system?
I just got it and started trying it.
We'll see if it works.
I have an old acnelamp, but it had red and blue together and was so hard to use.
