I have just started on the regime and have bought a couple of these moisturisers from my local Boots and wonder how they compare to a normal moisturiser. I have always used light moisturisers and tend to buy fairly expensive branded ones like prescriptives, clinique etc. I like a matt finish and always use makeup including foundation. I just couldnt go outside without it and am a bit dubious about whether my prescriptives oil free foundation is going to work ok with a rich moisturiser. If anyone has any tips they would be grately appreciated.

the moisturiser almost all UK'ers use is this1 : http://boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?...ationid=1018012

if you have it make SURE its the "FACE" version as there is another version which is greasy and not designed for your face.
i used this moisturiser for almost a year and know it doesnt "break you out"

its not the moisturiser biggrin.gif

haah how much of a retard do you think i am??
sorry, but i did buy the face version, 5%, and it HAS broken me out.its the only thing ive changed, and its the first time ive broken out.
obviously youre lucky enough to have skin that isnt so stupidly oily you break out if you use a product that isnt oil free.

it says that its non-greasy, but that doesnt mean it wont clog your pores.

im sorry if i offended you rolleyes.gif
a lot of people bought the non face version so i was just trying to make sure your product was correct.

and it wasnt the moisturiser that broke you out trust me, 99% of ukers use it and have never had a problem
its designed for application to the face and been around for years. it doesnt break you out.

greetings..

this is my first post here on the board.. anyway i myself have suffered from mild acne for just over a year now.

ive been on the CSR since July 2006 and no joke ive been totally 100 percent clear since.. only time ive had any breakout was about 3 weeks ago when i started the Eucerin face moisturiser you guys talking about..

i quit obviously and ive been fine evr since.. completely clear.. i done some research and found out some of the ingredients in the moisturiser are serious acne agravators and were the cause of my breakout.. Lanolin in particular is best avoided.

here is one of the URL for one of the sites.. once there scroll down and read number 1 carefully.

Natural lanolin from sheeps whool is ok, lanolin alcohol and other artificial sorts =bad.

It's all so confusing though. The cetaphil moisturiser which is so praised around here contains Cetearyl Alcohol + Ceteareth 20 which scores 4 out of 5 in Comedogenicity on http://www.zerozits.com/Articles/acnedetect.htm eusa_wall.gif

hi guys,

you lot are so bloody knowledgeable can you let me know what you think of the ingredients in my moisturiser - is there any bad stuff in there for acne skin:

water, TEA stearate, oleic acide, persea gratissima (avacado) pulp 7 oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, retinyl palmitate, ascorbic acid, eucalyptus globulus extract, chloroxylenol, FD&C green no.3 (CI 42053) sprays

I would really really appreciate your advice people. Cheers Willy

personally, i stay away from anything with oil in it..im not sure about the particular oils in that one, but search the bottle/tube, and make sure it either says "oil free", or "non-comedogenic" on it.
if it doesnt, chances are, if you have oily skin or suffer from breakouts, that it will clog your pores, leading to breakouts.

haah and it REALLY sucks that so many of us are "so bloody knowledgeable", i bet we could write several novels between us about acne...yet we still cant get our own skin totally clear.
