hey Melfice2k, you may be right about controlling the oiliness first before my pores would be easily closed w/ the topicals. just a correction, it isnt majjhima nikaya whose skin i really like.
tash, thanks for taking a quick look. hope your regimen works as well for you. i'll take a look at yours later.

moojamba's A Simple fast FREE regime!!, -soak your acne away
so i just did my first soak early this morning. i filled the tub with water and dipped in the electric heater for around 3 hours and added a little more cold water. it was hot enough i guess coz when i soaked my arm/feet and moved it around, it was burning hot! i also added about 3 pinches of sea salt (haha! i know should have added more for a tub of water!)
- before i did the soak, i exfoliated my face with Nu Skin exfoliator (with microbeads) and then followed it up cetaphil cleanser just to help clean the cosmetics off (i wore minimiser, tinted moisturizer and pressed powder yesterday).
- then i soaked my face in the tub for more than a 100 seconds (110 maybe), taking breaths every 10 seconds. after that i soaked my entire body for 100 seconds straight. then i got up to take a cold shower.
- i didnt use any soap or cleanser on my face but i did wash my hair chest and back with head & shoulders, and conditioned my hair with cream silk conditioner.
that felt great and i was able to stand the cold shower in the morning. i didnt put anything on my face after patting it dry with an unscented facial tissue and my face still looked glowing, not dry (only one small area on my left was looking a little flaky), and more even-toned. i did notice some blackheads ready for easy extraction on my nose and cheeks. i extracted them out using the tiny metallic comedone extractor. so my pores looked clean but open as well. i left it like that anyways. im definitely gonna keep doing this.
UPDATE:
i did another soak tonight before taking a cold shower. almost the same procedure without using soap or anything else on my face before and after the soak. also, the water i used was a bit cooler this time since i didnt have much time to heat the water longer. after the soak, my face look hydrated naturally but i also felt a dry/flaky small area on each cheek.
WORLD ANIMAL DAY

i wanted to bring my dog, Dixie, to Makati City for the 4 free vaccinations the city hall is gonna give today. too bad we cant bring the car over there due to color coding. so i just jogged around the village with her for 10 minutes from 8am.
then i washed my face with tap water (not too cold nor warm). my skin doesnt look greasy even after an hour.

2ND DAY:
-i did it only once, face and body, no sea salt, water less hotter. had cold shower after. used H&S on chest and back. then i used vmv hypoallergenics moisturizer for oily skin on my face coz i didnt want my derm to find me so dry the next day.
3RD DAY:
-i did it twice for my face and once for my body (cool water on my body in the morning). i used cetaphil in the cold shower for my face to remove cosmetics i applied after my visit to my derm. used H&S on chest and back.
4TH DAY:
-did the soak twice for my face. used cetaphil after my second soap. used H&S on chest and back in the cold shower in the morning.
ive noticed that my face can now stay less oily even when i soak and wash only once in the entire day. blackheads still come out to the surface on cheeks and nose. a few number of pores look smaller too. i do get that glowing look when i soak in hotter water then follow it up with a cold shower.
WHAT I'VE BEEN EATING
basically, more unhealthy resto food than healthy food.
SIXTH MONTH ON ISOTRET
ok i just got it on oct 6 (that's the 3rd day of my hot water method trial). my derm gave me again some hair-skin-and-nail supplements (actually she had me buy it).

during the mid-5th-month on tane, i noticed my hair was getting so dry.

so i had it cut pretty short again...but then i think when they added hi-lites, my hair become more dry/frizzy...and my skin tanned a little (caused by the hot red lights?). and no, conditioners dont seem to be working.

im not sure now if the white bumps i have on my back just below the shoulders are acne. i dont have the red bumps anymore. but i do have hyperpigmentations and these white bumps (which i dont really know what to call).
ive been using Head & Shoulders clean & balanced on it, been on accutane for almost 6 months now, used vmv hypoallergenics id sweat acne and overall anti-bacterial monolaurin gel and soap with salicylic acid on it but they're still there. they've been there for months already to almost a year i guess.
i also have these bumps on my chest, plus lots of tinier bumps (chicken skin?).

Sounds like keratosis pilaris.

Pretty amazing skin. Was your acne incredibly mild before you started accutane? Do you have any "before" pictures? Good luck.
thanks andrew.
i used to have mild to moderate acne ever since i was 12. many years later, facedoctor caused me worse milia which turned into huge cysts/nodules, mostly on chin. that's what led the derm to give me accutane. sorry, i didnt have a camera yet at that time to take a pic of my skin at its worst.
what about you? how's your treatment goin for you? hope its working great.

for many days now...
unhealthy diet - green smoothies + stress + bad sleepin habits + once a day wash (usually) + all-day-on-org = oily skin + depression.
