Before I say what I'm here to say, I would like to take this oppurtunity to warn everyone who is reading this not to let their acne get out of hand. As you are about to see, I let it eat me away for far too long. Get in early and be done with it.

DON'T WAIT FOR THE FUTURE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT NOW!

I have been a long-time sufferer of acne. It first begun very mildly when I was around 13, and now, at age 17, it is extremely severe, even chronic (if one can call it that). Here is an example of how my chest (left) and back (right) looked approximately 2 days ago:

This is me in a Castor Oil pack (below):

Since then I have found this site and have begun applying the Regimen. I have also limited my diet to fruit, veg, and fish. Once a day I wrap my chest and back in Castor Oil and leave it for 2-3 hours (I've tried sleeping with it and it's far too unpleasant). I apply 2.5% BP three times a day to all areas (chest, back, face, neck) and wash my face with soap twice a day. Needless to say I shower daily and am careful not to irritate my skin by giving it too much attention or exposing it to harmful agents. I also am making a conscious effort to not touch or scratch my face (I never realised how much I was doing so). I realise it's also about replacing bad habbits with good ones.

I will use this topic as a Diary to record my progress whenever I get a chance. I don't care how long it takes, but I want it gone for good. It's been 4-5 years too long and now I am investing all my energies in ridding myself of what feels like a disease. It may take years, but hopefully my salvation lies herein.

Wish me luck! eusa_pray.gif I will keep you updated.

good luck mate. you might want to consider 10% BP for back and chest as it is much tougher.
i have found the much maligned panoxyl 10% excellent for my back (that would destroy my face, use 2.5% anything except panoxyl on face)
watch your soap on ur face that its gentle and dont forget to moisturise face

I can't wait to see your progress. Imagine how this could change your life! And you're right, we should not let acne eat us up like that. Let's take control!

Good luck! wink.gif

Good luck! I do want to let you know that while some people with severe acne have had luck with the CSR, though, it is intended mostly for mild-to-moderate acne. If you don't see satisfying results in three months or so, do go to a derm and ask about more aggressive treatment options like accutane.

What is the point of the castor oil wraps? I'm not sure if castor oil is comedogenic or not, but I've certainly never heard of it as an acne treatment. You won't be on the regimen until you cut out extra steps like the castor oil wrap that might compromise your results, so do keep that in mind.

As far as I know, Castor oil has a unique chemical composition which helps fight off bacteria. I dont think it is comedogenic. Its been used for a while now as an alternative medical treatment, mainly for GI issues.

I agree. if you are claiming that you want to clear your acne now and stop letting it eat your body up. try accutane.

Your body acne is very severe and will probably scar, ur face is pretty clear compared to ur chest and back which is good but i think u should go ask about accutane which is the strongest thing against cysts which is what u have on ur back and chest. But if you compelled toward the csr i wish u the best of luck.

btw have u seen a derm about ur skin?

Good Luck with the csr!
