This sounds strange, but interesting. Judging by the replies it seems to work for quite a few people, so I'm going to give it a try. My back has been breaking out on and off for almost 5 years now, and it's currently at its worst and is being very stubborn so I am willing to try anything. I actually have some Head and Shoulders shampoo already... the classic clean version.... so I'll start tonight and let you all know how it goes....

The dry skin is now starting to go back to normal. My skin is looking alot better than it has done for a while rolleyes.gif

Wouldn't the best thing be a shower gel that had Benzoyl Peroxide in it? I use H&S as my regular body wash, but it hasn't done anything to my pretty severe acne on my back.

I Tried Head and Shoulders the other day. I would have my shower and then apply it all over when I got out, leaving it to air-dry.

After two days of doing this my skin had hardened up and become irritated. It only seemed to make my back look alot worse and it really hurt.

I was clearly applying it wrong. I'm interested in knowing how everyone else applys it.

I found it too irritating to leave on. I put on about a 50/50 mix with water an hour to hour and a half before showering, then wash with a little more in the shower. Apply other stuff topicals as needed after shower. Has not been overly drying now.

is it better than the 1% formula?

I think I'm going to use the weaker normal formula until it stops working (as others have said it does) and then switch to the intensive version, and possibly the Ocean kind after that.

Soo it's been almost 2 weeks since I started using this and I have actually noticed a positive difference, though it is probably also due to me scrubbing/exfoliating my back with one of those bath net/sponge thingies. I'm not clear, but I didn't expect that as I've only been using this every other day and because my back was BAD to begin with. Prob just going to see a doctor, and start tanning because that has cleared up my back in the past.. as much as I know tanning beds are bad for you, lol.

I'll keep using the H&S though as it does seem to be helping some and is certainly not hurting.

I came across this message board and topic searching the internet looking for a cure for bacne. My bacne isn't extremely bad, just a few clusters of small pimples here and there, but ever since the acne starting showing up, I've been extremely self conscious of revealing
my back. Especially since summer is coming up, I know I need to get my back in check.

So I came across this topic talking about H&S as a cure. At first, I was skeptical. But I am
sort of desperate. I've been wanting to get rid of this acne for years. I went to my local
rite-aid and picked a bottle of Classic Clean up. I washed it for the first time yesterday, and I
already noticed a little improvement.

I plan on only using it as a body wash once a day, rather than two (like I know some users have done), and I'm not leaving a film of H&S because it is pretty powerful. I definitely would not want a rash accompanying my acne on my back, haha.

But so far the results are positive, and I'll keep you all posted with the results day by day!
Thank you for the suggestion!!! biggrin.gif

Ok after taking a little break from H&S cus I O.D'd a bit on it lol
I'm back on track
Been using it for about 2 weeks again
and my skin on both my chest and back is noticably smoother, infact, quite a bit smoother. I still have red marks but I'm hoping a bit of tanning will sort that out and the acne on my upper arms is pretty much gone - just a few red marks and tiny pimples that should go soon.
Just been using it as a body wash using a scrubbing brush. My skin is a little dry but I can deal with it and that can be easily solved once my acne is gone. I have a bath daily (have to have a bath because my shower is broken! ><) and only lightly wash off the H&S before I get out and pat dry.
Summer is coming so soon! It's scary. I hope they will be gone by the end of August cus I'm going to Ibiza with my friends and definately need to be able to go shirtless there.
Shall keep you posted every so often smile.gif
Good luck to you all.

Phew... I finally finished reading all 21 pages of H&S discussion!!!

I used to be using Aspirin tablets as a once-a-week back scrub, ACV, on top of that many other commercial products that had claimed to clear up bacne. Until I stumbled on this.

Half way through (since I had to go for lunch break) I rushed myself down to the nearest store to grab some H&S -- now I simply can't wait to knock off from work & rush home to try it out! I pray that I would ONLY have good results, and will surely update you guys tomorrow morning! wink.gif

Just thought I might like to ensure all in check.

I've gotten a total of 2 bottles, the "Clean & Balanced" (I am a Singaporean so the only available to me similar to "Classic Clean" should be this) and a small sample of "Intensive Solutions 2% Zinc (for dry/damaged hair)". I guessed I would probably try out the former first since its 1% zinc to start to get my skin used to it as well as it had MARVELLOUS scent!

1) Just wondering if you guys would suggest I use a glove scrub or hands-on lather?
2) I also read from a few that after rinsing off, instead of towel dry I should leave it to air dry.

I would like to learn of the various applications and how it affects the end result?

Oh 1 more thing! Should I skip every single topical application tonight while I am trying on H&S? It just seemed to me from various feedbacks that H&S is way too drying for skin?

Thanks heaps!

After using this for quite a while my recommeandation is to only wash with H&S, not leave it on after you shower. Use diluted tea tree oil or manuka oil, mandelic acid etc. instead

I've finally tried out H&S on my back -- last evening as well as this morning.

Yeap, thanks for the advice WF! I didnt dare to leave them on after shower because I find it yucky/sticky plus I have 2 dogs running around at home so it wasn't such a good idea. I first wash my back with the Intensive 2% Zinc, lather into a rich foam, apply on ONLY my back and leave it to work for 5 minutes or so. After washing off, I went on to use the Clean & Balanced 1% Zinc for my WHOLE BODY ~ there goes another 5 mins. Rinsed everything off and I towel dry myself. I look at myself in the mirror after that, the most prominent which I've noticed was my face ~ white! (I have *touchwood* a clear face, probably a few blackheads here & there). I had 1 RED angry bump on my neck thou' which the colour didnt lighten at all. As for my back, I didnt see much changes after 2 washes still.

Hmm, mixed feeling I would say in this sense. Bit disappointed because there wasn't much improvement (probably because I have more scabs/scars than active acne). Happy because this morning when I came to work, my colleague notice fairer skin! Its also much smoother than before. Nonetheless I am still going to stick to H&S for the time being because I have faith esp. after hearing so many raved about it..... Plus it is so cost effective! I needn't buy many different foams for different parts of my body. H&S covers all! eusa_dance.gif

P/S: Any idea how to effective remove scabs and scars?
I have alot on my back now because of my itchy fingers!

You think this would work?

http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/deta...=65^startLink=1

Cuz this is the only type I have in my house and I'm to lazy to run to the store and get the classic H&S eusa_think.gif

I tried it before (bout 3 days) and I didnt seem to break out then I stopped (like an idiot) and was using Proactive at the time which.. ehh kept it at bay. Now the damn Proactive is gone and I cant pay another 40$ for it eusa_snooty.gif

I hope this workks!!! chuck.gif

It should be fine. It has Pyrithione Zinc 1% in it so it's mostly the same.

I heard that you have to use the Head & Shoulders For Men in order to see results. Is this true? I just have the regular old Head & Shoulders, will that work?

To anyone who's thinking about trying this method I'd advise to apply the H&S to just one area of the body and see how it reacts. This didn't work for me at all on the contrary it made my back acne worse and I made the mistake of applying it all over my back.
