Hi everyone, just joined the forum and this is the article that made me join. I have sever bacne, big bumps, cysts and little spots from my shoulders all the way down to the middle of my back, especially on my shoulder blades. I also get an insane itching sensation on my back arms and chest, I was just wandering if anyone could tell me, if using H&S is the right thing to do. and if so, how exactly should I do it. Should I just keep it on for 5 mins or the whole night????
Thanks in advance

Im suffering with bacne, mine isnt too bad at the moment ive been acting on it quickly before it gets any worse.. i did try facial wash that is suppose to clean your pores and reduce spots it worked for a couple of days then stopped then i tried moisturizer which just made it more greasy, but then i started using facial wipes that just clean your skin and take your make up off yes strange? but it actually works cause its taking all the oils that are on your skin and freshing it up, after i do that i put an olay non-greasy moisturizer [Its in a pink bottle, you can get this from boots or any body shop] on that makes your skin smooth and keeps your skin from drying out, and its been working excellent. My bacne is starting to fade and go now you do this every morning or night. Hopefully this will come in handy i hope.

Well guys I must say this has been working out for me as well! I've had pretty bad backne and the results after two weeks are amazing my back is smooth and no bumps. My regimen is H&S classic clean 5 minutes before the shower (hand applied). H&S again in the shower(hand applied again) warm to cold water, rinse, lightly dry after shower. I then apply a Sea Salt, Apple Cider Vinegar, Tea Tree oil mix diluted in %50 percent water applied with a cotton ball. (at night only stuff is pretty strong) Next day Gold Bond Medicated powder all on my back really helps cool everything down all day. Also taking vitamin A, Flax seed oil, nacin, and zinc. So far so good! Still have pretty bad scars but what a difference. I'm so happy with the results so far. No over drying of the skin or extremely irriated spots. My back hasnt felt this good in months. I am not afraid of a pat on the back anymore.

I read a lot of good reviews for this, so I decided to give it a try. It did dry up a lot of my bacne, but I was never really clear. I still got a lot of breakouts, but they would dry up faster- and my back was sort of perpetually irritated. I found out that the first three ingredients in head and shoulders are actually highly comedogenic. I've stopped using it- now i use neutrogena stress control power cream body was and gold bond body powder and it has worked like magic.

Hello guys
OK. This is going to be a bit of a long read. So go and make yourself a cup of tea.
I could have posted this as a reply to the many other threads on this board about bacne, but I wanted it in its own topic so that nobody missed it.
So.. I had severe bacne. Im not talking about 1 or 2 spots here and there. I mean cysts and spots all over between my shoulder blades and on my shoulders. It got to a point where I couldnt even put my shoulders back, nevermind wear a backpack. Very painful. Sleeping was a nightmare.
I tried lot of things including Harley Street derms who only made it worse. I tried sea salt for a week, but I didnt have the time or patience to take a bath every day.
So after reading posts on here about exfoliation and Head and Shoulders (H&S) shampoo FOR MEN, I decided to come up with a regimen and give it a shot. Its important that it has to be the Men's shampoo as I couldnt see the "Contains Zinc" label on any of the others.
And here is my regimen:
Active Bacne
1. Wash back and shoulders in the shower with H&S by hand. Be gentle.
2. Rinse off completley. Do your normal shower routine elsewhere on your body.
3. Just before you get out of the shower, wash your back and shoulders again with H&S by hand, but this time DO NOT rinse off. Just pat the back and shoulders with your towel. The point of this is to leave a film of H&S on your skin throughout the day so that the Zinc can do its stuff.
4. Do not dry your back and shoulders with a towel totally. Let them air dry. The water will dry off and the H&S will be left behind, making your skin feel a little tight. This is ok.
When the Active Bacne has calmed down
1. Same as above, but instead of washing by hand (step 1), use a back brush. Im from the UK and have bought a very good one from Muji for about £7. Its not too soft or hard. Spend a little time brushing around your shoulders and back with this in the shower. I normally apply the H&S by hand and spread around to lather it up a little. Then I use the brush.
2, 3, 4. As above.
I am left with marks now, but I am hoping they will fade in time, or fade via brushing. The most important thing, my back and shoulders are no longer bumpy. I dont feel a single bump. Feels so smooth! I think this may be due to the brushing.
OK, I just thought I would share this with you guys. If it worked for me, it can work for you. Good luck! Feel free to ask any questions.

HELP!!!!
I think I should've not used it and left it on. I'll explain.
For 2-3 weeks I used Head and Shoulders as a body wash. Based on what some people said, if you start with that and it doesn't help much, start leaving it on. So I did. I did it for about 5-7 days. After that, my skin started peeling and what I feel kind of reminds me of a sunburn. Did H&S burn my skin? I am kind of afraid of what is happening to it. Will it be easy to fix? I decided not to use H&S anymore. It really wasn't doing anything to my skin and now my skin is dry and burnt. What do I do?! Please help!
