In the OP's post, he said he applied the H&S twice; once when he first got in the shower and once after. If you aren't going to leave the film on your skin, do you still do it twice? Or when do you do it? Would this work:

Get in shower
Put normal shampoo in hair
Apply H&S shampoo to back

At this point, do you guys just stand out of the range of water and wait? Or what exactly

Well since the first time you rinse it off, I would just rinse it off.

I don't really understand what you are saying.

The original poster rinses it off the first time, and then the second time he gets out of the shower and pat dries it but not fully. He then lets it air dry.

Why would you stand out of the way of the water in the shower to dry off? I usually like to turn the water off when I dry off.

What I mean is, do you step out of the water for a few min and let the H&S sit there? Or do you rinse it off immediately after applying?

Well when I apply it the first time, I step out of the water and during that time I wash my face and shave. Then I just rince it and apply some more right after and then dont rince but pat dry.

I don't understand why you would need to let it dry the first time before washing it off. I think that the first time it is used like a body wash, and then the second time it is meant to stay on for a long time which is what gets the job done essentially. Letting it dry and then rinsing it off seems like it wouldn't really be any different than just rinsing it off right away.

an update guys...

i no longer leave a film of H&S on my back. no longer needed. its been about 2 months since my back cleared up now.

also, i noticed that once clear, brushing everyday wasnt good. it made me break out in little pimples. more due to irritation rather than acne i think. no where near as bad as before though.

so now i just wash my back with H&S by hand in the shower and leave it on whilst i clean everything else. then rinse it off just before i get out. i use the brush about once every other day. i.e. one day on, one day off. the day that i use it, i stick to the exact regime i posted first (except for the film part).

glad to hear you guys are giving it a shot and that it is working so well for you.

I have been applying head and shoulders to my back for two weeks now and I am almost clear. Just wanted to say that I never left a film on all day. I just wash my hair with it (dont see why I have to use a different shampoo) and then wash my back with it. Thanks for all your help everyone in recommending H&S.

Now try leaving it on balls overnight. When you wake up in the morning it feels so good.

Shampoo can be drying though... didn't it cause you to itch? Why not just buy a cream with zinc in it? Or a sunscreen with zinc in it? Zinc is the same as zinc oxide right?

hey, i posted a thread about this earlier... head and shoulders had an amazing effect on me, ive been using it for a month and my back is flawless, nothing.... minus one scar i have but plan to get fixed up in the next month... just to mention though ive been searching all over the internet on this and if head and shoulders has a dramatic effect on you prob dont have acne... its some kind of fungus thing that resembles acne something follicitus... check it out on google... plus i wouldnt recomend leaving it on overnight... youll get a bad rash, h&s can be really harsh if overused

I'm getting some bad irratation on my shoulders from this. It could be a rash, I'm not sure.

I just purchased H&S classic and I put it on last night...one question however...while I do have some small surface acne on my shoulders and sides of my back and chest (very little) I do have tender lumps here and there. That is the sort of acne I have-cystic, but they usually either come to the surface pretty quickly or I remove the contents beforehand. I rarely scar, but It does leave red marks sometimes. My question is does this method work on deeper, cystic acne? Or is it best for surface acne?

Does anyone know if the type of H&S recommended (there are so many of them now) is available in America? If so, can you list where you purchased it? I noticed those who purchased the exact product listed initially, are from the UK. I would love to give this a try, but I don't want to substitute. Products can seem virtually the same, but not have the same effects.

I started the H&S routine a few weeks ago and I've been getting lots of small red bumps onm y body. THey don't turn into whiteheads or anything like that but they are annoying. I remember reading about H&S possibly clogging pores (if it doesn't work for your bacne).. Could this be the case with me? I'm planning to stick it out for another week or so before switching methods..

Edit: I'm pretty sure the bumps I've started getting are Pityrosporum Folliculitis. I thought H&S was supposed to help PF. Instead it just have me a breakout of PF which I didn't really get before H&S.... Any suggestions?
