I gotta post, I started using H&S (well, a generic brand, with same ingredients) and after about a week, I don't think it did my skin any good. It COULD be because it was the generic, but. . . I don't know.
Anyway, I washed with it, and left it on to dry on my skin. I did it twice a day - morning and night - for 6 days.
At that time, I began to see *almost* what looked to be a rash forming on my back, about where my shoulder blades are. The skin was blotchy, no acne, but it didn't look healthy.
So I stopped. I also experienced worse acne on my shoulders during the experiment, I'm not sure whether it was a purging effect, or other triggers that caused it.
This was my last try before going back to a bodywash with BP in it. I didn't want to deal with the BP bodywash because it bleaches everything; but I'm just going to have to. It works pretty well, and definitely better than the H&S for me.
Best of luck to you all.
PS I also used a salicylic wash during the test. It could be that it began to irritate my skin, but since it never has before, I don't think that's the case. I will continue to use the salicylic wash since it's proven to help acne.

Also when I wash the second time, and let dry, I dont see any film or anything it looks like its completely vanished? am I doing this right? maybe its my robe that I wear? maybe I should just let it all dry before putting anything on? Please help! thanks guys!

Guys ive been doing this 2 times a day, leaving it on for 2 min then rinsing off. Ive seen HUGE improvement!!! But broke out a little again on my shoulders. (problem areas).
Neway, im gona start doing it only at night, and leaving it on so a thin film stays. I also use alpha hydrox for the marks.

thank you, uksnowboarder, for your post.
i tried using seasalt baths, and did so every other day for a few weeks, and it worked so well, it was amazing!
but for a few reasons, it would be best to use other stuff. and if this worked for severe back acne, hopefully it should work for me, too (mine is i guess, what you'd call bad moderate, with maybe only one cyst every now and then but my shoulders and top half of my back are practically covered).
it seems they don't sell the exact same one here in the U.S.
is this okay:
http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/deta...=65^startLink=1
it says Pyrithione Zinc 1% is the active ingredient
......
and here is the lineup of what CVS has:
http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/sear...amp;startLink=1
(just in case that isn't the right one, which is?)

i started using H&S about a week ago...at first i was just washing with it but then the past 4 days have been putting it after showering and letting it dry. just now in the shower, though, i didn't use it but used my organic facial cleanser with 3% AHA on my back -- when i was drying off it hurt a little bit, and when i checked my back in the mirror i saw a small what might be rash starting. i'm not sure if it's from the combination or what (that's not that much AHA, i don't think -- and i can't imagine a rash starting that quickly from AHA).
my back has been pretty dry from leaving the H&S on, but it seemed to be clearing a bit until now -- yikes. i saw one other person who posted said they thought they were getting a rash from it and so stopped. what should i do? i'm not sure if it's a rash or if my back is 'purging' stuff -- though i guess if it's a bunch of red bumps, it's a rash? anyone else have this?

yea i just started leaving on the head & shoulders after i shower and just letting it dry and after about the third day i began to get rashes aswell. i have a rash on both my shoulders and my lower neck. im not 100% sure its from leaving it on, but i think jpb123 may be right that leaving the head & shoulders on could be an overkill. and i know now that im gonna stop leaving it on because the rash is starting to become little painful.

thanks jpb and cameron -- glad it wasn't just me!
the rash feels better this morning so i'm going to go back to just washing with the H&S and not leaving it on

Hi uksnowboarder
Did you have bad body acne before trying this regimen then, has it kept the acne away since you started, i take it this regimen can be used anywhere on the body, back/chest etc.?
hi tommy
yes i had bad bacne before i used this. i went to expensive derms who just made it worse. since this regimen, it has cleared up my bacne and also kept it at bay. even though my skin is now smooth, i still do the regimen everyday.
im not too sure if it would work on the chest as i havent had to use it there. i dont see why it wouldnt though. give it a shot. its cheap anyway!
it seems they don't sell the exact same one here in the U.S.

hi greg
yes i think that one would be fine. it has zinc in which is the most important part of the shampoo to clear bacne.
sorry for my late reply.

hi white

thanks.

Hey uksnowboarder. Just wondering...
Have you ever tried the 2 in 1 pythrinc zinc classic clean? Do you think its better to use since its 2in1 pyth zinc more?
I just gotta know cause from reading the other posts, im really worried about getting a rash. my skin is bad enough with all the cystic acne, i dunno if i could take a rash too. ;_;

no i havent tried that one. the one i have is working tremendously for me so dont want to switch!
trust me my back was VERY cystic and decided to give it a shot and it did the trick. maybe try it, but dont leave a film of H&S on your skin. just make sure its all washed off before you get out of the shower so it isnt on your skin all day.
but its upto you dude. i dont want you going trying it and coming out in a rash or anything. i just know that it did my cystic bacne wonders and didnt develop a rash of any sort.

Okay I have had major success with the H&S classic clean. Leaving the H&S on all day, for lack of a better word is Dumb. Seriously I wouldn't do that. Only if you know its a key step in using the H&S. Especially for newcomers to this regime. Mine is simple I just lather it on with a loofah for 2 min and then rinse it off. I'm 90% clear, mostly past marks. If you have problem areas like me where you still get some break outs. Then I recommend you leave it on for 30 min before you shower. That takes care of the problem for me.
