Hi guys,

My problem is a little different...i had been using BP for yrs and was clear for quite a lot of time and now i am again breaking up..but i'm not able to use BP as its making my whole face red and itchy...i guess i've developed an allergy to it...if i use it more my eyes also swell up... PLS HELP WHAT SHOULD I DO???[b]iS THERE ANY ALTERNATIVE TO BP AS I NEED TO KNOW IT VERY BADLY??? salicylic acid doesnt help me much....pls pls pls help me...i'm really getting tensed abt it as its flaring up very badly everyday....starting from chin its going up rapidly.........someone help pls......... sad.gif

The only bp alternative that I have heard of is tea-tree oil, but I don't know how effective it is. You can consider giving it a try though and report back if it worked or not.

redness, itching, and swelling are not good signs though. You should probably discontinue the bp.

I would stop using the bp. I have been using it for months with beautiful success and then just recently my skin has become so sensitive and allergic to it, that I have had to stop. It started with a little bit of itching around my eyes even though I never put the bp or lotion near them. Now even if I take a 2 week break from the bp and use it again once, my face turns bright red and itches intensely for 48 hours. It's not a dry skin thing. I know it is an allergic reaction, unfortunately. I have switched to salicylic acid for the time being, but it is not as good ad getting rid of my skin problems.

Thanks a lot for ur reply...my acne is flaring up like crazy...do u think topical erythromycin is worth a try apart from tea tree oil...i have it at home so i want to give it a try be4 buying tea tree oil...do u think it is effective and how should i apply it if i want to fit in Dan's CSR???
